Spring Hill Pure Spring Water with a ‘best before’ date of 15 August 2011 is being recalled in Northern Ireland, because the product is contaminated with E.coli and may be a risk to health. E.coli is a bacterium that can cause food poisoning. The Agency has issued a Product Recall Information Notice.

Although the E.coli may not be a type that causes illness, it does indicate the water has been contaminated with faeces and may make the water a risk to health.
The distributor, Lynas Food Service Ltd, based in Coleraine, Northern Ireland, is recalling the product from consumers. Retailers and caterers have been asked to remove the affected bottle of water from sale and show a point-of-sale notice, explaining to customers why the product has been recalled.
