Food Alert - Asda

Postby Penny » Thu Oct 07, 2010 9:11 pm

Ada's Smoked Catfish is being withdrawn from sale because it has been labelled with an identification mark of a food manufacturer that is no longer authorised for use. The Agency has issued a Food Alert for Action asking local authorities to make sure this product is withdrawn from sale and destroyed.

It is thought that an unapproved manufacturer is fraudulently using the identification mark, and despite investigations it has not been possible to identify the source of the product. The fish has been found on sale in small independent stores in a number of London boroughs.

We cannot guarantee that this product has been produced safely, therefore anyone who has bought it is advised not to eat it and should contact their local authority for more information.
Product detailsProduct: Ada’s Smoked Catfish Fillet, 120g
Identification mark: WQ411
