We too followed it every step of the way, my Dad was a miner and died when I was 9 with pneumaconiosis (lung disease). Can't imagine the difficult life my Mam had bringing the 6 of us up because in those days there was no help., but she did a great job.

I think everyone was watching, holding their breath. The best piece of mews we've had in a long time and well done to all those who made the rescue possible.

I am a coal miner's grand-daughter, my grandfather on my mother's side had the miners lung disease too.
