The public will wish to be aware of further information relating to the Food Alert for Action 15/2010 issued on 28 October 2010 concerning unacceptable levels of Listeria monocytogenes in certain batches of the above product. This is a Polish product which is sold under the names Sokołów Home Black Pudding Sausage and Sokołów Grill Black Pudding Sausage.

The Agency has now been made aware of additional date codes / batches affected and is now advising a full recall of all date codes/batches of this product as a precautionary measure.

The Agency has also received an update on the ongoing investigations being carried out by the authorities in Poland. The manufacturer was instructed to carry out cleaning and disinfection of relevant production departments and to conduct environmental and food sampling for the presence of Listeria monocytogenes. In the meantime the Polish authorities have also prohibited further marketing of the affected product. We will send a further update when the products are to be marketed in the UK.
