Dental check ups

Postby jollyjack » Thu Nov 18, 2010 10:25 am

Are dental check ups as thorough as they used to be? I remember when I used to have them the dentist poked at every nook and cranny and nearly always found something to do. I have check ups every 6 months, it just seems to be a quick look around with no poking. Yesterday I went for my usual examination for the past couple of weeks I have been suffering from sensitivity again when drinking hot or col I have been complaining of this problem for years and visited 3 months ago, dentist said just be carful when flossing and use sensodyne toothpaste this seemed to help. Now he has found a root cavity and I have to have an extraction today, surely this didn't just happen in 3 months.

I think my dentist is getting fed up with consistently saying everything is alright and instead of telling to make an appointment for six months, said come back in a years time !!.

That is looking like a pattern!! They'll be up to something - like saving up all the work to be done when the price goes up!

Well the tooth is oot..another step closer to wallies. I asked him, after the tooth was pulled of course, if cavity had just happened, he said it wasn't there last time. I suppose you have to take their word for it.

I use a battery operated toothbrush and find this great for cleaning teeth. The last time I went to the dentist it cost me nearly £200 as I also had to have one capped
