An Extra Room

If you could have an extra room added to your home - what would you use it for?

I would love to have a room just for my bookshelves, a deep comfortable chair, an office chair and a large desk with plenty of desktop space to hold my computers, printers, etc.

Having the place to meself I did exactly what you say, turned one room downstairs into an office, with shelves for books, a long desk and cabinets for computer, printers, etc.

Result - I am usually perched at the end of the kitchen table, with my laptop. Nice in here, big windows, from floor to ceiling, watch the sunrise and sunset. Not at the same time.

I have already turned my spare bedroom into an office - it is MY room, but if I could have an extra room added to the house it would be a utility room with a downstairs loo!!!

I dont want any more rooms to clean at my time of life BUT we have turned the small bedroom into a computer room.
Hubby and I both have our own computers and our own desks side by side.
Handy when we have had a tiff because I can send him an email telling him its his turn to make the coffee without having to open my mouth. :roflmao:
I have sliding door wardrobes in there so no problems with getting into them without doors banging on the desks.
To help matters along we have the toilet right opposite because we live in a bungalow.

If I could afford it I would have a massive conservatory, with insulated glass that makes electricity.

Two friends built a conservatory on the entire back of their house, facing north. I wondered why they would do that but it is a fantastic extra space. Warm in winter, does not get too hot in summer, their little grandchildren can skate and race their tricycles, himself is building a train set in there "for the grandchildren, when they are a bit older" - hhrumph hhrumph

When we both realised it was getting difficult climbing the stairs to go to bed, we decided to have our internal garage made into a downstairs double bedroom and an en suite with walk in shower.
Best thing we ever did. We now feel we live in a bungalow and only use the upstairs rooms for visitors
My computer and desk etc is tucked away in an L shape of our lounge.

That's a good idea Mo. Stairs can be a real problem as we get older.
