Badgers came for supper

Postby DaisyB » Sat Nov 27, 2010 12:37 pm

Last night we went to our friends' home in Woodingdean for a meal. They are so lucky to get badgers visiting their garden, so feed them each evening. Last night the mother and son came for supper whilst we were chatting. (they had already visited before we arrived and then while we were having dinner in the dining room). Last night they had peanut butter sandwiches, we had home made steak pie, roast potatoes, carrots, peas and sweetcorn, followed by fresh fruit flan and cream, all washed down with copious amounts of red wine. :D

We were able to take some photos, with only the French windows separating us. We didn't use flash and took the photos quickly, so they are not the best quality.
We were about to change settings on our camera when a neighbours dog came into the garden and scared them off. Mother was very timid, but her son was a bold little fellow.
Our friends have said that Steve can visit to take photos, and I guess his will be superb.

You all had a good supper then!! Unusual is it not for badgers to come visiting?

Aawwwww absolutely fantastic June.
I would have loved to have been there.

How lovely to have them visit each night.
I would be over the moon if I had visitors each night like that.
Thanks for showing the photos.

Yes I suppose it is unusual Eve. They live on a surburban estate on the outskirts of Brighton, but opposite their house is a copse, no other houses, so I suppose the setts are in there.
