A very remote beach in South Devon gets busy for a few weeks of the year, the farmer opened one field and an elderly man sat in a little hut, directing the parking and taking the money. He was a retired professor, who enjoyed being outside, with the sweetest little dog, always with him.

Chatting with him was part of the fun of a day on the beach.
