Mind numbing day!

Postby caroljoyce » Mon Nov 29, 2010 6:03 pm

I'm usually all over the place on a monday but todays been a bit different. It's too risky to get the car out.... it's like a skating rink down our little lane. Instead, I decided to do some deep cleaning.... I started with the bathroom tiles... I've scrubbed in between every one with bleach and a toothbrush... Talk about mind numbing!!

Exciting day eh? :roll:... What have you been up to?

Ditto!! Also changed and washed bed linen.

I've done quite a bit of shopping online this year. The Early Learning Centre, Next and M & S are my favourites.

My water softer has sprung a leak and can only be repaired by a replacement one.

Dust if you must, but wouldn't it be better
To paint a picture, or write a letter,
Bake a cake, or plant a seed;
Ponder the difference between want and need?

Dust if you must, but there's not much time,
With rivers to swim, and mountains to climb;
Music to hear, and books to read;
Friends to cherish, and life to lead.

Dust if you must, but the world's out there
With the sun in your eyes, and the wind in your hair;
A flutter of snow, a shower of rain,
This day will not come around again.

Dust if you must, but bear in mind,
Old age will come and it's not kind.
And when you go (and go you must)
You, yourself, will make more dust.

Remember, a house becomes a home when you can write
"I love you" on the furniture..... :banana: :banana: :banana:

Makes more interesting reading than countless discussions of mind numbing Reality and Celeb TV shows.

I had a CT Scan this morning. The nurse warned me that after the injection in my arm, I would feel extremely hot - like a bad hot flush. Well I had just come into the hospital out of the freezing cold, so it was the nicest hot flush I have ever had - wish it had lasted longer! :mrgreen:

Mo - not being able to sleep is miserable. You mentioned once that you have your main meal at lunchtime, with wine. Does that mean you often have a long snooze in the afternoon? I know that I would.

You could try leaving the wine and keeping very busy during the day, avoiding snoozing as much as possible. Then have your wine in the evening, with a sandwich, or whatever nibble.

Might do the trick?

After years of insomnia I can now sleep anywhere, anytime!! Watch a programme on TV - forget it, I'm snoozing!! There's always that couple of hours though, between half past three and half past six that I'm totally awake!! Strange.
