Lovely gesture.

I had a pleasant surprise this morning when my cleaner came. She handed me a prettily wrapped present and said "Laura has asked me to give you this and she hopes you will both have a nice Christmas."
I have never met Laura because she is my cleaners boss who runs the business although I have spoken to her on the phone.
She has sent a lovely hand made card and a box of Belgian chocolates.
I thought it was a lovely gesture and its much appreciated.
I will phone her later to thank her for the kind thought.
What say you?

It is a nice gesture Maisie at least she's appreciative for your support to her business. Do people still give elderly people Christmas hampers there?

That is a shame about the hampers, prior to retiring from work we would give out at least 500 hampers to local old folk, we collected tins/goodies from September onwards and would begin the boxing/wrapping process at the beginning of December. A friend who has a holiday home here leaves us a hamper of English goodies we can't get here for our Christmas present, love it!
