Yesterday afternoon

Postby mo » Sun Dec 19, 2010 3:15 pm

Just a flurry of snow on the ground and within half an hour there was this.

Image

Unbelievable. It took our daughter three hours to make a small journey to pick up her little girl.
Such a heartbreak watching the news and hearing all of those that are stranded at airports. Even worse when they have little ones.

We had what was supposed to a flurry, turned out to be 5 to 6 inches. Very very cold, minus 3 here. Expected more today but keeping fingers crossed, none so far. Not to worry, spring can't be far behind. cheers Penny :grouphug:

We had some snow today - maybe four inches. Very very cold though.

Has been snowing all night, heavy, deep and even, looks fantastic out there, like Lapland, UK.

I'm off until the new year now but is going to be a difficult week, for people trying to get into work or travelling to be with family.

Here we only had a little flurry.
The roads and pavements are normal.... just a light covering on grassy areas and rooftops.

Awoke this morning and temperature was minus 9. Went to minus 4 during the day and so far has stayed there. Very cold. Ordered some oil today and have to wait until after middle of January. I hope we wont need it but more snow is forecast. cheers Penny :grouphug:

Twin Dorrie and I have had to cancel our night at Potters Leisure hotel in Norfolk due to the weather. Lost our £63 each as insurances don't cover weather conditions.

Mo - That is a shame and also unfair. All those places are well insured and could afford to be generous. They often fill last minute cancellations, with local people, who can get there, so they get paid twice.

Well we are going to attempt Potters tomorrow for our overnight stay as looking at the weather forcast it won't be too bad to travel from Herts to Norfolk.
I didn't tell them we were cancelling, just asked if we could change to a later date which they refused so hopefully they haven't rebooked our room. Must get in touch in the morning.

Mo, where I live in Norfolk a lot of the snow melted yesterday and there is hardly any about now, but I don't know about other parts of Norfolk.

Do hope you manage to get there.
