Under the influence.

I've just been rubbing teak oil on my upstairs doors. They aren't teak but I use it because being an oil it's not such hard work as other polish, all I have to do is rub it on and it soaks in.

Now I've done it though the smell is very strong, I feel a headache coming on and a bit woozy... I reckon I'm under the influence of blinkin teak oil!

Well I survived the night... Had the windows open till about 11.00pm and then put the radiators on... It soon warmed up because we don't go to bed till about 1.00am.

I can still smell it but not so strong... Another day of open upstairs windows and it should have gone.

Danish oil or Finishing oil do the same as Teak oil, soaking in without the need to rub and polish and they have hardly any smell.

Read a hint once - When visitors are due, spray a bit of beeswax in the air, smells as if hours of housework took place.
