My daughter just alerted me to this ... fortunately I am 3+ years out and CA free ( as far as anyone knows, of course ), but you might know someone who can take advantage of this real boon for someone going through chemo.

If you know any woman currently undergoing chemotherapy, please pass the
word to her that there is a cleaning service that provides FREE
housecleaning - once per month for 4 months while she is in treatment. All she has to
do is sign up and have her doctor fax a note confirming the treatment.
Cleaning for a Reason will have a participating maid service in her zip code
area arrange for the service. This organization serves the entire USA and
currently has 547 partners to help these women. It's our job to pass the word
and let them know that there are people out there that care. Be a blessing
to someone and pass this information along.

It certainly is - is there anything here like that?

Would it be something that could be started where you are?

Women are ( almost ) always the ones to keep the household in order and if undergoing chemo, this is an impossible task. So for those of us dealing with breast or ovarian or any other sort of cancer requiring chemo, this would be a godsend, don't you think?

Absolutely because we women worry if things are not clean and tidy and it would be a weight off their minds so they could relax a bit, especially while undergoing chemo which is exhausting.

Probably better to suggest it to several cleaning services ... surely they could use some good PR. And if doctors are the ones to certify the need, the medical folks would become aware and suggest the service. This isn't a governmental thing here in the States ... and it doesn't need to be governmental where you are. Probably works better if it isn't ...
