Looking back

Watching the news this morning, one part was "Looking back on 2010"

If you believed what was showed, the only thing that last year was sport

Ours was a bit depressing! Christchurch earthquake and Pike River coal mine lead the field. Then a bit of sport to cheer us up,(we beat the Aussies at Netball, League and Rugby- you can't get better than that! )
Civilisation is a veneer, easily soluble in alcohol.

I like to look back, not because 'nostalgia ain't wot it used to be' but to see how things have changed, how I have changed, what I can learn from it.

Was thinking just the other day that I've had an Internet connection for TWENTY years ??!! Do you remember the little old modems singing and - failing - every blasted time? And the little meter running berserk, at the top of the screen, with every second making BT even more bloated plutocrats?

Those that ignore History will only repeat their mistakes time and again.

Move on. That's what I say. Nothing more boring than old folk reminising about the good old days.

I quite enjoy a good reminisce, but I don't dwell on the past (quite a lot of it is best forgotten anyway) however I like to think I have learnt lessons from both past triumps and tribulations .... which hopefully stands me in good stead for the future
