We've followed this poor man's story since that awful day last July and have just watched news where he is hoping to return to his work for at least a couple of hours a week. It showed you his recovery from that awful day up to the fitting of his prosthetic eyes......(Sky news followed that story):

His new charity mentioned on Pride of Britain Awards is slowly getting off the ground but I was saddened to hear one of the patrons, Peter Kay, has withdrawn his support, I wonder why that is?

There was a piece in the online TV news where PC David Rathband said he felt abandoned and left to cope alone by the Police Federation.

I hav'nt come across that statement at all, although he did set up the blue lamp foundation because he felt abandoned by the system for people such as himself who are injured in the line of duty.

I'd never seen that before, probably why after discussions with them he began the blue lamp foundation.
