I don't remember life without telly, as a child, but only got our first telly when our first baby was beginning to sit up and take notice.

It was a huge catafalque of a thing, with doors, from Radio Rental, five quid a month.

Took us years to rent colour, even bigger catafalque, with doors, also from Radio Rental. If memory serves still only five quid a month. Consumed half a kilowatt an hour and probably emitted more rays than Gunhilly.
