Was sent this link today, gives you free access to the American census

www.rutlandfree.org

RIGHT click on Heritage Quest Online then open in another window. This will bring you to the census section, along with some others, and just do a search in the normal way.

Unfortunetly not everyone is getting through, think it seems to work best using Firefox not IE

Good luck anyway

Might be thick and impatience, but could not find Heritage Quest Online, all I got was about Library books :dunno:

found it in Database, but it needed a 14 digit library number

Once you've clicked Databases you should get The Rutland Free Library
About a 3rd of the way down the page is Heritage Quest Online [library card required for all access]
If you RIGHT click on this and open in new page you bypass the need for library ticket.
Works fine in Firefox but some folk have had trouble with IE

I've managed to locate and download pages with my lost ancestors on

Managed to find quite a few things I wanted late last night,
just tried it now and they've closed the loop-hole.

:sorry:
