Erodiums

Postby Monika » Tue Jun 06, 2006 6:04 pm

A couple of years ago, I went through the RHS book looking for some new perennial plants to grow in the garden and I found these two (amongst others) and they are great performers.

They flower profusely throughout the growing season and I don't know why more people don't grow them.

The name is Erodium Pelargoniflorum and the only thing it doesn't like is being moved.

The next one is my favourite as it doesn't stop flowering until the frosts.
Just keep removing the spent stems all the time and they pull away really easily. This is called Erodium Manescavi.

Finally, this little beauty is one of my favourite climbers and this is the first flower it's borne this year which came out today.

They are lovely Monica. I'll have to take some foties of my pots, there's all sorts of weird and wonderful things appearing in some of them.

Hi, Monsy ........... look forward to seeing your photos, they're sure to cheer me up.

I'm so fed-up with myself lately. I've got a skin condition which drives me absolutely up the wall. Tried gardening today and had to give up in the end and still suffering.

Things can only get better, I suppose :tantrum2: :tantrum2:

I'm sorry to hear that Monika. It's a shame when something like that, stops you enjoying what you like to do.

I'll get out there and do some. I've got the rabbit and guinea pig out in a run at the moment, so there is a great big wooden thing in the way!

Sorry, Emm! I've been meaning to post something about them for ages now, as I truly cannot understand why they aren't more popular.

The one I would go for is the Erodium Manescavi as the ferny leaves on that are really nice too.

Next year, perhaps?

I'll forgive you this time, Monika.

I thought they looked like Geranium types, Widge.
