Hi, Widget ............. I think a bit more info is needed.
Is it perennial?
A houseplant?
Does it flower?
I don't recognise it at all and the only thing I thought was that it may be a kind of potentilla, but that's just a mad stab in the dark.

hope that link is not to long,
it is a perennial, got it from my Daughters garden last year before she moved, it has not flowered yet, cannot remember if it did.

widget looking through my indoor plant spotter the nearest to those leaves I could find was Fatsia Japonica,but doesnt look the same when you put it in Google,I hope this is of some help.
I did find the BBC do a plant finder in their gardening web pages.
