Mystery Plant (Again)

Hope you're looking in, Ann, as this is another one I don't recognise.

This will be the last one for this year. It's about 15 to 18 inches tall, a perennial and it appears to be forming a good clump at the bottom. The flowers are quite flat and the buds are like discs.

Although I set the seed about two years ago, this is the first time it has flowered, and I haven't the vaguest idea what it is.

It looks almost like a Scabious. Whatever it is it's very pretty.
Ask the question on the site Widget used.

You'll get an answer in no time at all, I did with my mystery yellow plant.

I think it is perhaps a form of Scabious, particularly as it is rather like the last picture on the 2nd link from Ann.

I think I shall regard it as a rare variety of Scabious and give it the tender care appropriate to the high status I have bestowed upon it.

Of course, it may well be the most pernicious weed in some remote part of the world - but I like it.

June and Ann - thanks for the input. :thankyou:

Next year, when there is a large clump of flowers on it, I think it will be lovely Monsy.

The good news is that the link that I was given by both June and Ann has proved to be excellent as someone on there has managed to identify it.

It is, as suggested by June, a form of Scabious called Jasione. I'm really chuffed!
