Bay Tree problem

Hi folks anyone help me please. I have a small Bay Tree which is kept inside and used purely for culinary purposes. I now have a problem many but not all of the leaves have become covered in a clear sticky substance can anyone please advise me.

Sounds like a white fly attack Tony. Are there any insects visible?
