The people who daubed the Jewish graves should (if caught) have to go on an extended visit to Belsen and be made to keep it clean and tidy and to think of those who went before to such a terrible death. It is purely malice and ignorance by those who perpetrate this sort of graffiti.

There's not much to see at Belsen Doatie.. A small visitor centre at the gates and only large walled mounds built of earth .. with plaques estimating how many people died..

Just through the forest a small way is an un marked memorial to all the Russian people who died there.. Mostly of starvation and neglect..

I worked in the now UK army camp there at Bergen.. All the rail lines are still there running into the camp gates from many directions..

Many died there through starvation and disease.. because of the breakdown of supplies towards the end of the war....

The birds really don't sing in the woods at Belsen............
