Didn't anyone see this on the news - the 67 years old woman who has just given birth to twins?
She had fertility treatment - lying about her age - said she was 57.

Just who do these medical people think they are - God? The woman looks her age.

I have a friend who has just become a great grandmother - and she is several years younger than that woman.

I think it is a very selfish act - pure self indulgence!

Although she is lined and elderly, I thought her an attractive woman and not half as ancient-looking as the Rumanian who previously held the record...........nor as haggardly old as the English woman Buttle who had her baby boy a few years ago in her tumbledown cottage and claimed to be in her mid-fifties.

Far too many of these now, their children will be left on their own when still very young.

I think she must be completely out of her mind! One of the women I know who has some learning difficulty was relating this story to me this week. She knows I haven't been able to have kids and asked me if I had ever tried this IPF - took me a moment to realise she meant IVF!!

Once it has been established that these women have only become mothers through deception, the children should be taken from them and put into care awaiting adoption.

That would put paid to any more of these dreadful stories.

I have read one horrifying statistic saying 800 UK babies, in the past year, have been taken away from their natural parents for adoption. These were not mothers seeking to find adopters. OK, some were justified, but many more cases seem not to have had a valid reason. You may have read about the young couple whose three little ones were taken and adopted....they had another baby and await hearing whether they must also give him up.

It seems the only reason was because the mother is 'a bit slow'.

My point is, I agree with the comments above, and like Monika I agree that using deception to become a mother, is grounds for childcare and adoption.

I think its appalling that they take children away because the mother is a bit slow or has a learning disability when they leave so called "normal" women with violent partners with their children, who often grow up knowing nothing but violence and in many cases are neglected or abused.

Or tragically worse.

That's right and for those children available to be adopted - the prospective parents have got to be the right age, weight, personal habits, and salaries!! Not what I would call the priorities.
