Ain't it the troof

Postby dejavou » Mon Jan 21, 2008 7:56 pm

[align=center] I cross ocean, poor and broke.
Take bus, see employment folk.

Nice man treats me good in there.
Say I need to see welfare.

Welfare say, 'You come no more,
We send cash right to your door.'

Welfare cheques - they make you wealthy!
NHS - it keep you healthy!

By and by, I get plenty money.
Thanks to you, you British dummy!

Write to friends in motherland.
Tell them 'come fast as you can.'

They come in turbans and Ford trucks,
And buy big house with welfare bucks!

Fourteen families, they moving in,
But neighbour's patience wearing thin.

Finally, British guy moves away.
Now I buy his house, then I say,

'Find more immigrants for house to rent.'
And in the yard I put a tent.

Everything is very good,
And soon we own the neighbourhood.

We have hobby, it's called breeding.
Welfare pay for baby feeding.

Kids need dentist? Wives need pills?
We get free! We got no bills!

British crazy! They work all year,
to keep the welfare running here.

We think UK darn good place.
Too darn good for British race!

If they no like us, they can scram.
Got lots of room in Afghanistan

And the only ones to blame are successive UK Governments....................not the immigrants!

In their place, wouldn't you take advantage of such lax immigration checks? Sometimes it can cost pounds to save pennies, but the Government has yet to be convinced! :sunglasses:

There's always got to be the scapegoats - somebody that we can blame.

This racist poem has been circulating for 30 years or more. It originally mentioned Pakistan, not Afghanistan.

I HAVE to respond to this.

I helped set up a website in Oz, and was stunned when one of my fellow set-upee's put this racist garbage on the joke thread.

We were close friends, but this caused a rift; he believing it was funny; me believing it was racist. The rift was deep. I left the site, and did not return until I learned that he had lost his wife to the same vicious illness that took Gina, VM.

I phoned him; we cried, and I returned to the site.

(This 'joke' was removed by a 3rd party intervention not long after it was put there. I would stress that each site is individual and takes it's own decision's).

This 'import' would love to tell you all WHY this is so bloody offensive, but I have no intention of discussing my motivation for being so offended by this.

I don't see it as racist.
Civilisation is a veneer, easily soluble in alcohol.

You may not Cidey. I am happy that many can see that it is; including Afghani and Pakistanis that I know.

Given that is leveled squarely at them, I'm more inclined to accept their view.

I have to say I think its racist as well but do not think it was a deliberate racist post. unfortunately a lot of people still have these views which I deplore. the one thing that makes us discrimate against other people is the perceived notion that they are taking something away from them - whastever it is. Its easy to blame people we don't understand and we fear what we don't understand. We are now a multi cultural society and its never going to go backwards.

Would that this were true. There are so many work shy British. In some families there are generations who don't and won't work.

I still remember the poor West Indian lads coming over in the early 50's- at the invitation of the government - to do jobs that the locals didn't want to do. Treated like Sh*t they were.

I agree that things are wrong in this country, but perhaps we should be looking nearer home.
