Nobel Peace Prize

Do you think this justified? I think 1yr is not long to earn such an honour, or the fact
more troops have been set to war.

Too early. In the Daily Mail it claims he is not in the least intersted in Gt Britain and has no desire to encourage the good bond we had with the USA over the years. Mind you, not too sure if we want to be "mates" with them but we do need to be friends with them but not cosy- up like we have done and do, when we do. Can't always believe the Press and the DM are noteably, **** stirers! :sorry:

I would be very glad not to be such "friends" with the USA - we've been more like their lapdogs over the last fifty years. That's why I like the EU so much - makes us not so dependent on bliddy America.

His lack of respect for the local hosts in Copenhagen show he is just another arrogant Yank. All mouth and bo****. I would really love to see him and them taken down a whole basket full of pegs. :tantrum2:

Victors Mate, the Nobel hosts were in Oslo. ( as a Norse once removed, I am a bit touchy about getting Scandinavian addresses right. :sunglasses:

The climate summit is in Copenhagen.

From what I've read, it is because of not having GWBush and his handlers around any longer that the Nobel folks -- and the world in general -- have breathed collective sighs of relief. Perhaps it was given more with hope for the future than with a list of past accomplishments.

Edited to add ... his shortened stay in Oslo was with the full agreement of the Norge royal family and Norge authorities. Did appear a bit unseemly, but we aren't privy to governmental "stuff", are we?

Welcome Rocky maybe I didn't make myself clear I quoted Copenhagen as an example of his arrogance. I am quite well aware that these are two different events in two different locations. :x
