Rights in the UK

Been posting mostly on American political forums lately (and they are horrific!)

But got into a Womens' rights thread (which I kinda inadvertently started)..and that got me thinking that the only disadvantaged group in the UK today are white British males who are not gay/transgendered/transvestite, old, disabled, women or a parent.

Strikes me that that is discrimination as much as any which has now been addressed.

You think it is fair that, just because, at one time, men had the upper hand in our society, they are now in the position of being less than the "special" groups our PC ethos has elevated to "special" status?

No not fair at all but then as we were told - life isn't fair.

Men used to call the tune but women woke up one fine day and completely turned the tables in many ways, got out of their prams, so to speak and rendered the male sex "impotent" figureatively speaking.

It seems that fathers are not important, families are mocked and scorned and considered passe. and who by? I will kep schtumm on that issue. :rolleye11:

They're not really Toolip - only the worst of fathers. Most men can be close to their children in a way that just wasn't done forty years ago - I welcome it.

Anyway, I'm not feart at mice or spiders!! :cheeky4:

it's only those soppy lot who scream "diversity" that conjure up these ridiculous notions. I too welcome the new father. Our sons ages 40 are fantastic dad's as was their own dad, my husband. Role modelling, IMO

Where I have problems is with those "feminists" who think, if it is male, it is a waste of space....as in our feminists in charge in the Nulabour Government...even arch man-hater Germaine Greer has moved past that attitude.

We have equality under the law now...............so we should not be having feminist-invented "problems" and arguing for laws to address them in our favour any more.....when there is nothing I can see which cannot be addressed using the laws we already have.

I want to be equal...not superior....and I'd rather see an attitude educated into the UK which removes the need for positive discrimination of any kind...than laws which give parts of our society more rights than other parts.

A lot of people (especially women) don't recognise the fact that, yes, the genders are equal, but different.

I've always liked being a woman; Vive La Difference!
