My machine is still playing up. Keeps scrolling on its own, just as though someone is reading the lines. I have tried re-booting but to no avail. Hubby and I are both beginners at this technical stuff so I would appreciate any simple suggestions. cheers penny.

if you have XP you can do a system restore to before the problem started.
You can always undo it if it doesn't help.

Have you a scroll wheel on your mouse? worth looking to see if that needs adjusting, seems it must be to do with the mouse.

Definitely not the mouse. I just open a page, sit back and it scrolls up and down at will. Strange it has stopped doing it since I put the query on here.cheers Penny.
