Last time mine was switched off was ........ hmm ..... March I think ..... we had a power cut!!

I shut down but never switch off at the mains. I've installed AVG 8 now - seems to have new bells and whistles.

Ever since my got struck by lighting, even with a surge protector, I always switch off at mains at night.

glad you like the new AVG, how long does it take you all to scan???
and how often do you scan??

I've set it to scan once a day at 06.30am, I've no Idea how long it takes as it's finished by the time I view it.

We have 8 too had no probs downloading and it is fine.

My AVG 8 ran well for a time and then it went all boobies up! The updater stopped working and I could only update manually. According to posts on another forum, this has happened to a lot of people. I am now trying PC Tools AV and will see how that goes.
