There was something on BBC News at 1 p.m. today (which I hope to catch properly at 6 p.m.) saying how dangerous spamming has now become, to individuals - all of us - as well as business. It may well have been started as a nuisance/ prankster thing but is far more significant, worldwide and harmful now.

What is spamming, Viv? Of course I have heard of it and no doubt have been blasted with it.

It is what splatters onto your incoming email box which is thoroughly unsolicited and usually highly objectionable 'mail' often not even addressed to you.

Spamming is the abuse of electronic messaging systems to send unsolicited bulk messages indiscriminately

In other words, junk e-mails advertising spurious products and 'physical enhancements'
