Many :thankyou: 's for your birthday and get well wishes

Sad to say the old COPD had me in its grip again. I had been feeling under the weather, breathingwise, for a day or two and last Thursday morning Ian said it had been difficult to wake me up and that - when I was finally out of bed - my lips were turning blue so he 'gently' persuaded me it was time to go to hospital. At A&E they said I would probably only be in long enough to raise the oxygen levels in my blood by administering oxygen via a mask. Luckily, this time, I got away with not having a canula inserted in my arm for the antibiotics and steroids. Unfortunately, the procedure took longer than expected. Once the oxygen levels are raised they then have to be maintained without extra oxygen for a period of 24 hours before being judged well enough for discharge

I'm happy to report that I was discharged yesterday with oxygen saturation @ 92 (perameters were 88-92) I'm feeling much better and am currently imbibing a brandy and coke in a somewhat belated celebration of being 64 (and yes, Ian says he will still need me, and will still feed me :roflmao: )

I'll not let the b*****s grind ME down
