My spider shed her skin today. I've fixed the empty one to my nets (they are due for a wash) and am horrifying all the local children.

When they get really close and start peering, I move it just a fraction............

OOOOOH! the screams.................

It's to do with their pedalips (sp) Emm.

The have two tiny leg things in front of their fangs, and on a male they have like little boxing gloves on the end, to hold her down, so she can't bite him.

Because this was under 'pet pics' I opened it very carefully, being a big brave girl....no pictures but still made my toes curl

You are too kind....just the thought of the skin being on the nets gives me the heebie geebies.
There was a big spider on my bedroom curtains the other evening....so big I could actually hear it walking, honestly...well, I dragged the cats in to go for the kill....they looked in amazment and fled into another room, swiftly followed by me. I slept on the settee that night.
Daft isn't it - even this enormous creature was probably only about 3 inches long.......why are some of us so frightened of them?

Dunno Mazzy, we are about twelvety thousand times bigger than them!

I am not scared of anything like that, but I simply cannot sit in the same room as a bluebottle, the buzzing drives me insane!

Thanks for that, Monsy, I don't know anything about spiders - just that I am not scared of them.
