Dave was about to pack a suitcase with stuff to put in the loft. Jovi had other ideas, like
You are Not Going Without Me

He's about three years old Monsy. He was imported from USA by a breeder to use as a stud dog. He had a clean bill of health and was mated to a bitch with a clean bill of health but one of the pups was born with a condition known as PPM (permanent pupillary membrane) which is hereditary/genetic. So the breeder took the responsible course of action and let us have him as she wouldn't risk breeding from him again. He's been 'seen to' and though he has stopped scent marking (which he did when we first had him) it doesn't seem to have calmed him down much.
Dachshunds are very vociferous and also destructive. Beth has outgrown the destructiveness as she is 9 now but Jovi has ruined our suite. Every time someone leaves/visits the house he runs into the lounge is the door is left open and takes a lump out of the nearest chair.
You cannot be houseproud when you own dachshunds I have discovered. Thank goodness for throws.

One of our cats - the one we thought was lacking brain cells - always got worried when I was packing to go on holiday. She took every opportunity to curl up in the suitcase.
