I have just been reading the "YOUR DOG" magazine and it shows a photo of a 10 year old dog Pointer dog that has a tumour SO big it is dragging on the floor.
The owner has not bothered taking the dog to the vets.

I cannot put a photo on here to show folks because of copyright but does anyone else buy this magazine :?:

I just cannot understand the mentality of folks having pets and watching them suffer.

Cheers Maywalk.

It's apalling Maisie, there is just no excuse. If they cannot afford vet's bills the PDSA or Dog's Trust would help.

Yes I know they could June. Thats why I am SO angry about it.

WHY let it get as big as two footballs and dragging on the floor.

If it had been a neighbour of mine I would have reported it.

Its bloody disgusting to think no one has done anything about it before it got to that size.

Mind you, the could possibly be another side to this story, on reflection.
Dinah, one of our standard poodles, had a mammary tumour. The vet decided not to remove it because sometimes they can 'seed' and start a whole load more tumours. We had to watch it get larger and larger, still he didn't want to remove it. Then it got to the size of half a house brieck and was solid, it sat on the floor in front of her. We took her back to our vet and he agreed that it was now 'ripe' and ready to be removed, which he did. She was 13 years old, 10 days after that operation, the day after the hurricane here, she had another ooperation to remove her uterus as she had pyrometritus. She lived to within a week of her 16th birthday.

According to the reading June this poor dog has never seen a vet.

Its horrible to see a big lump dragging on the floor the size of two footballs put together as the poor animal struggles to walk.

Then yes, the owners were extremely cruel, I hope they had the book thrown at them.

At least he's not suffering now, and hopefully the tossers will be prosecuted

There was a woman near me prosecuted for having a Jack Russell with a huge tumour. She obviously knew as she locked it in the shed.

I didn't know 'til it was in the papers.

She worked in a cafe on the seafront and had been there years. They had to sack her because of the abuse and loss of custom.

Serves her bliddy right! COW!

Good it sounds as though she never got away with it Mons.

I hate to hear of cruelty to animals. Mind you if my one could talk she would tell you I kept her in this morning till she dried off after having a bath. :D :D :D :D :D Thats cruelty to her the way she kept moaning at me to let her out.

She is outside now basking in the sunshine.

It's either that or the hairdryer, Maisie

Thats just it Mons I did use the hairdryer on her to start off with because she has two layers on her coat.

It was only to take the wringing wet off her though. Even saturating three towels through with wiping her she was still very wet.

MIND YOU I DID USE WET WATER. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
