Good Friends

One of my previous dogs had a phantom pregnancy when she was about eighteen months old and during that time adopted one of her squeeky toys as her baby. ...All through the following years she followed the same daily ritual where she would wash this toy in a morning and then put it back into her bed, where it stayed until the next day. ..It never ever came out of her bed except for this daily wash, until she was about fourteen years of age, when her very best friend -the next door neighbours dog was very ill. My dog must have realised the serious of the situation because she went and fetched her beloved 'baby' from her bed and took it round to my neighbours house and placed it beside the poorly dog...for all the world as if she was telling her that she hoped it would bring her comfort....Sadly the poorly dog didn't recover.
