Many, many years ago, I read a letter in Woman's Realm (my Mum used to take it). It was from an old lady and apparently there had been some previous discussion as to whether dogs went to heaven. This dear little old lady wrote in and said surely if heaven is supposed to be a happy place, her dear old dog would be there to greet her when her turn came. If not, she didn't want to go there anyway!

I have seen this poem before Daffyd and its very beautiful but I dare not go into the link and read it again or I will be in floods of tears.
