Any ideas?

I have booked my cat Misty into the vets for Saturday morning. She has a 'spot' on her eye...sort of like a blister? We have only just noticed it, and can't get her to the vet before then.
Anyone any idea what it could be?
I get really stressed when something is wrong with one of my cats. I'd much rather it was me with the problem.

Have I mentioned my cats?..............have you got a couple of days to spare?
:)

Different thing I am sure - but one of my dogs recently nearly had her eye popping out.
Turned out she had an abscess at the back of her eye.
The same dog has a black spot on the same eye - seems the eye was damaged at some time, before we got her.
You could try bathing the eye with a very weak solution of salt water, mazzy.

Er - yes, I have a couple of days to spare when talking about animals.
Good luck at the vets.

It could be a cyst formed round a foreign body. I hope it's nothing serious Mazzy. Pets are a worry at times aren't they?

Panic over...no serious problems. The vet said it was just a surface scratch, probably due to a fight....no infection, though she has eye drops just in case.

That's good news Mazzy. Eyes are one thing that I get squeamish about. Have fun putting the drops in. :D :D

My Max has dry eye syndrome and I have to periodically put in antibiotic drops. Every day, twice a day I have to put in eye drops and every day twice a day I have to use Viscotears (to replace the tears he doesn't have). Every night time (or if he is to be left for more than 5 hours0 I also use Lactolube to keep his eyes lubricated.

I have got used to messing with his eyes and so has he - it helps that he gets a meaty treat every time I do anything though!!

Good news Mazzy. Pleased to hear it.
I would much sooner put drops in a dog's eye, than a cat's.
Is she being a good patient, Mazzy?

I don't think so...she is quite a skittish little madame...now, if it were her sister it would be so easy...she will do just about anything for food.
