Morning Dita and all. Lovely and sunny but so hot. Come a little too quickly me thinks. So hot in the night. Having to get the fans out today. (electric that is) ha ha. Pity the players at Wimbledon Hubby still stuck on his computer. Daughter taking family to the Norfolk coast for the week end. See that ants have started coming in again, flying ants this time. Wretched nuisance. Looking forward to Wimbledon, hope the little German girl wins. Too hot for doggie walkies today. Give her a big hug from me. Take care all and enjoy the weekend. cheers Penny

Hi Penny and all. Agree, it is beautiful outside, but wow! its made poor little doggie insist on a very short walkies today, within 10 mins she was back and gasping for a long drink, bit like me really. She sends big hugs to her friend Penny though. You and your fans, that tickled me:) I so enjoyed the tennis yesterday, looking forward to the lady's this afternoon, I too go for the smiling German girl, we'll be shouting together. Have still the ironing board waiting, started to do it yesterday, I gave up to watch the tennis and it may be the same today, Oh! heck, and tomorrow!!!!. Pollen still very high, not nice for your hubby, bet he's sneezing and splattering the computer screen :) Take Care Penny, and all xx

Just to let you know Dita, the lamb shank from Sainsbury was fine, only snag, not as much gravy if it is to be shared by two. Enough meat for us two. We tried the rosemary and wine, will try the mint one next and let you know. I must say, excellent for a quickie meal. Took 14 mins in the micro. cheers Penny

I was wondering about how the Lamb Shanks turned out Penny, thanks, I think I'll get some next week, probably the mint ones. I am always on the lookout for quickie meals these days, by the time I have spent half the day cooking, I've lost my appetite. And there is only the two of us.xx

Morning Dita and all, lovely and sunny again going to be hot today. Hubby booked lunch out today, good, but can't bear the thought of a roast at the moment. Will have to see if there is anything else. Otherwise the birds will have a good feed again. Wonder if Andy will make it today. Had an Email from the Master re grandson, They arrived o.k. and it is so hot they are sleeping with wet towels handy. Said, as no internet we may not here again for sometime. Start their mountain trek today. Sooner them than me. Hope everyone is well and feeling top-hole. I felt a little low for some reason this morning. Having quite a bit of neck trouble. Forgot to put my brace on when I started a cross word. Fingers crossed now. Have a good day and take care all. Big hugs for doggie and don't get too hot on walkies. cheers Penny

Hi Penny and all. You are maybe having your Sunday lunch by now, what have you decided to have, I wonder, like you a Roast today would not be my cup of tea. Doggie did not stay on walkies very long, she rushed back like the blazes to get a drink. Must admit I wasn't too bothered, relieved really, anyway she sends big hugs to you. I am waiting for Andy to perform later, would hate to bet on his certainty to win, depends on his mood of the day. Its F1 too. Where is your grandson doing his mountain trek? my Grandson is into that sort of thing too, he goes all over the place with his University friends. Hope you are oka Penny :) and all.

Morning Dita and all, Lovely today, a bit cooler and some shade at last. Hubby still up in his office, doing pictures at the moment. I have been ant hunting. Funny how flying ants get in with no sign of entry. If they think I am, going to provide something they will have to think again. One of our birds got so impatient yesterday, slammed into the window in the dining room. We were watching Andy and his presentation when we heard this almighty bang on the window. Although I love birds I cannot touch a dead one so hubby spent sometime looking for a body, nothing to be found but a big mark on the window. I am leaving a notice today, ' Must wait until server arrives' Hope doggie enjoys her walkies a little better today, not so hot. Saw the motor racing yesterday, I still think it is getting a little boring. 'Must remember to fill their pants with ants to liven things up a bit. big hug for doggie and take care all. Not many of us left. cheers Penny. Grandson in or arrived in Morocco. ?? :sorry:

Hi Penny and all. Nothing worse than them Flying ants, I used to use Deathlac but its such sticky stuff, they are horrid when they get in the house. That bird must have been a bit thick skinned and just has a bit of headache today after his/her collision with your window. Hope now they take notice what you have advised, and don't be so silly. Not so hot for walkies today, low cloud this morning, she sends big hugs to you too. Grandson has not been to Morocco !!, he does visit Italy,France, and all over Britain. Take Care Penny :) and all

Morning Dita and all, Hope everyone is well. Do hope you have all good news this week Dita, Seems I follow suit, my neighbour phoned yesterday afternoon, her husband had just died. Poor woman, he has been bed-ridden for the past 5 or 6 years. My neck playing up so am feeling low myself. I think we will be out for lunch, hubby has printed pictures of the Inn, very good, so will probably deliver them. Must say, since taking over, the family of this place have done a super job, not only meals but comfort and décor. Nice to hear of someone making good for a change. Hope it is not too warm for doggie today, Give her a big hug from me. Just finished ironing, meant to say, get yourself an ironing machine. no trouble at all. Just sit, pull down a lever and hey presto =, item done. Had my Elna, for a good many years. Hubby just popped his head in and said, 25 years ago. Hope everyone is well and enjoying the sunshine. Take care all. cheers Penny

Hi Penny and all. Sorry to hear that you are having sadness at your end too, it does affect everyone nearby in small communities. Doggie did not linger on walkies again today, much to my relief, our house is quite cool inside and a bit of a shock to find it so hot out. A lad in our village has set himself up in business of painting outside walls, nearly all of us in our row are going to have him smartening up our back walls, in our case there will be a large side wall too because we live at the end of the terrace. Many years ago we had the front specially done, this was very expensive so we never afforded the rest of the walls, they are all pebble-dashed and the main back wall was redone a few years ago. That already done means the little extension walls to do. I am rabbiting on:) I do hope your neck pain is easier, just horrible knarling all the time, doggie sends big hugs to you, to make you better and cheer you a bit, :bighugs: from me too, I well know how that feels. Where my son lives in a Kent village, they have a little pub which has recently been taken over and revamped, it is opposite their house and now a joy to visit. Take care Penny :) and all

Thought I'd add my little bit of news for the day...not very exciting but.....I am 67 and have never plucked my eyebrows, or paid them any attention at all. My hairdresser 'persuaded' me to have them waxed today. It was surprisingly relaxing, only cost a fiver, and has made a difference, I think.

Wondering what other new experience to aim for??

Wow, that's brilliant. Did it hurt. I did think about it years ago but mine were so light had to pencil a shape to make them visible. That was quite cheap Mazzy, keep it up and let us know the next step. cheers Penny

Good on ya Mazzy, years ago I used to love plucking eyebrows, I worked at a local Hairdressers and was the beautician at the salon. never done waxing though. A fiver sounds pretty cheap. Like Penny I have fair hair and eyebrows almost nil.

It was really relaxing - I was expecting it to hurt, but she was very good. Didn't tell me when she was going to 'rip it off' so I was not tensed up.
I go to a quite old fashioned hairdressers. Bill, who owns it, is 85. It's men downstairs and ladies upstairs. You are not pestered to buy
'product'. The beauty part is quite new, and I have watched people coming and going - never thought I would be one of them.

I've just been looking at the price list...could have eyebrows, lip and chin done for £15.00......not sure I would drift further down though :-)
