Good evening, everyone. Got back home yesterday evening and have spent the whole day doing holiday laundry; collecting my lovely Lucy from the cattery and trying to find enough space in the fridges for my Ocado delivery. OH said we couldn't stay away any longer because he was running out of his prescription pills (and heaven only knows what might happen if he stopped taking the tablets ...... ). At least the laundry's dry although the ironing is something I'm refusing to consider in this heat. Isn't it strange how you come back from holiday and end up washing more clothes than you've actually got? Or does it just feel like that? XSooner or later (probably later because I've so much to do that I've been procrastinating about until 'after the hols') I'll post a few pictures of some of the places we went.
Ah well, back to what passes for normal now ...

Hello all, up till last week I concluded this was Penny and Dita's private tete-a-tete, till I saw Mazzy join in, and now Maggie and Andere! :sunglasses:

My cat decided to stop drinking her water when the heatwave came. I refresh it and rinse the bowl constantly, and add an icecube in the hottest times. Maybe she has had some in the night as the level looks a bit lower. The dish is dog-bowl size and usually she drinks loads so dehydration is certainly not what I would expect.

Pet advice online says some pets have to be fed water by dropper when they turn contrary in the heat............I can just see Trixie permitting it - NOT. It also advises cooling them down by standing them in shallow cold water. You know, similar to humans running cold water on their wrists. I tried her paws in some water - struggle as usual. Her baleful look told me 'Stay the Hell away from my legs'!

Welcome Home Andere, next time make sure you take enough tablets. Such a pity you had to return at this time, a little too hot. Nice to see your post Vannin, envy you such a lovely puss. I expect Trixie knows how to keep cool, seems most animals can cope, simply doing nothing seems to be the order of the day. So hot again here today, having salad again. Not that I mind, don't think I could work in the kitchen for long today. No news from Dita and doggie yet, bet they too are feeling the heat. Hope everyone has a lovely weekend, take care and look after yourselves. cheers Penny

Here I am Penny and all, Crikey :tantrum2: what a carry on the last couple of days, think BT has at last sorted out our line, as I said it took him 3hrs and had to put us on a different line because of the fault on the other. The lad painting the rendering was shocked when it started falling off, that means the part he painted has to be removed, it is a large end wall and would cost a fortune to re-render, so a patchup is now on the cards. Went for a trip to Sainsburys yest morning, came back to find the whole village's electric had gone down, power finally came back on at 3am this morning. It has been quite a frustrating couple of days and I could not get online to tell you Penny. Little doggie has been a bit confused with all the carry on and greatly appreciates your hugs Penny :bighugs: Good to see we have got other posters on here, Penny and I have been keeping it going for a long time and its good to see others joining in.
Will nip back and read Andere and Vannin's posts, also anyone else's, needed to fill you in on all mi gossip Penny :) Take Care and keep Cool :lala:

Dita says " Good to see we have got other posters on here, Penny and I have been keeping it going for a long time and its good to see others joining in."

Thanks Penny and Dita. As I pointed out (above) I thought it was a thread for two, and didn't like to intrude till I saw it looked more 'open'! :grouphug:

Morning Dita and everyone. Lovely and cool here today, cloudy too. Twisted my neck somehow and having to wear a neck brace. Wretched nuisance. My doctor, a female, is on a 3 months Sebatical ?? and I can't face seeing a fellow. Will have to put up with it until end of this month, I don't mind the brace, it's just that if I move too quickly or bend badly I feel I am going to go under. Teach me to be careful. Hope everyone is well and enjoying the weekend. Hugs for doggie and cuddles for puss. cheers Penny

Hi, all - It's been much cooler here today and quite cloudy most of the time but really very pleasant. So pleasant, in fact that SAM_41, I've done all the ironing!!! :ironing:

Sorry about your neck, Penny; that sounds horrible so Get Well Soon.

Good for you Andere, certainly has been cooler. Cleared away after lunch and decided to work on here but this wretched neck problem got in the way, I had double vision, so two pictures in different positions. Gave up and went to lie down flat for the afternoon. Vision O.K. now but must remember to wear brace. Had I known, I would have sent for you and Dita to come and do my jobs. ha ha. Take care. cheers Penny

It would have been my pleasure to help out Penny, sure Andere feels the same, 2 of us or maybe 4 in your case :) could sort out the job in hand while you rest up a bit. Seriously, that must be horrible. I get migraine and that makes my eyes all wonky.

Hi all. After an overcast morning, the sun has just come out so I'm hunkered down with a big fan and the curtains pulled to spend the afternoon (allegedly) working at my PC. However, so far, all I've done is read emails and forums. Must try harder :rolleye11:
Keep cool, everyone.
