Morning all! With the heat having subsided somewhat, cat much happier. But she does now have her annual problem starting, which requires steroid injections between now and October. She is allergic to the harvest mite.

Your garage roof has served you very well, Penny, for so many years. We moved here 45 years ago, and I recall the garage being re-roofed about 12 years ago.

First week of September, the living room is to be decorated, the first time any decorating is done by someone from outside. I have already started some prior clearance and the prospect of the remainder is quite daunting!

Morning Dita vannin and all, poor puss, feel so sorry for animals, imagine their size and a needle being pushed in. Hope doggie enjoys walkies again today, much cooler. Big hugs from me. Had one estimate on the roof, just under 7 thousand. nearly fell off my chair. Still cannot hear, made me laugh, using the drops, it says, ' if the problem continues for more than a few days, see doctor. I booked an appointment at the end of July, nearest I can get is 14th Aug. I ask you. Hope all are well, out for lunch at the club today, not keen but not keen on anything at the moment, truly browned off. Take care all and have a good day. cheers Penny

Poor puss! Lucy Katt sends sympathetic purrs and get-better-soon wishes .
Still fairly warm here but quite cloudy and moody. I'm off to meet a friend for a gossipy lunch shortly and am definitely taking an umbrella because I don't trust it at all.
I'm delighted to report that OH stirred himself yesterday and got busy on the hedge so it now looks all neat and tidy again.
Hope all is well with everyone? Is it me, or has it gone very quiet here?

Morning Dita, Andere and all. Busy today, catching up with a little sewing. Lost a button off a favourite blouse and getting very cross with washing machine. Hubby on the roof, checking the damage, doesn't really fancy putting out 7 thousand for a repair he can do himself. Trouble is the roof is so long, covers a double length garage and the conservatory. Anyway, he must have thought it over as he is now up and down. He is quite handy when he puts his mind to it. Pleased your hubby is having a go at the hedge. Hope puss is feeling better. And doggie, Dita, should be about right for a nice walkies today, tell her she is welcome to a cuddle any time. Sorry about your breathing trouble, do you have to take stuff for it.I am still deaf as a post. All the airwaves seem to be quiet lately. Must be all this BBQ stuff everyone is talking about. Not my cup of tea.
Have a good day all and take care. cheers Penny

Morning all, off for weekly shop this morning. Nice and sunny so off you go for walkies with bug hugs and nice kisses for puss. Still deaf, had a call from daughter via hubby, she says try treatment for Ringworm. Laughed at the thought but reading about it, could be, I have a rash under my boob and it looks just like the picture on internet. Ever heard of it?? Interesting reading. Just had the signal to go, take care all. cheers Penny

The same thought occurred to me. I hope the insurance premiums are paid up to date? I'd worry myself half to death if my OH decided to get on the roof, even a garage roof, 'cos I'm terrified of ladders - although I do understand that a quote of £7K might drive anyone to start considering DiY.

Dita, be careful what you wish for! If my OH sees your post, he's likely to turn into Edward Trimmer-Hands and come hell-for-leather up the A1 with his Big Trimmer to demonstrate his hedge-cutting wizardry. The old electric trimmer died of old age last year and he replaced it with this humungous thing that looks like it would be more at home attached to a tractor and tidying up the sides of a major trunk road. I'm not joking when I say I can barely lift it - and I'm not any kind of 6-stone weakling! The result of all this is that our modest laurel and privet aren't enough for him and sometimes he hankers for new shrubs to conquer ... until it rains.

Not raining today; it's lovely and warm and sunny at the moment. :sunglasses:

Hi Penny and Andere, quite a nice calm sort of day, enjoyable walkies and football in garden. Takes us hours to cut our hedge with hand clippers Andere, your hubby welcome to visit with his machinery as soon as possible :) Our window cleaner did the whole village, then because of the cost of insurance gave up and left us in the lurch, our windows are very dirty now. Any offers?
Take Care Penny :) and all.

My poor window cleaner was clamped yesterday in the course of his job. He was due here at 11 a.m. (He always rings me the evening before to say he will come.) Mid-day came along, no sign of him. I phoned his mobile number, he said he had been clamped, he cleans mostly business premises windows, and where do these jobsworths suppose he will park? It is one of these 'pure water' set-ups like the window cleaner you have, Penny.

It was £130 for his clamp to be removed - which meant his morning's work gone.

He came to me this morning instead and I felt so sorry for him.

Tis a shame, they do a good job with this water thing. Ours is due again this month, must say the windows stay clean a lot longer. You will have to try and get the same kind Dita. Daughter came in this p.,. and played merry h..l over my appointment, made hubby ring up and I was able to go and see a doc at 5.30. She said I was to oil my ears for a week and booked me in for next Friday. Hopefuly, alls well that ends well. cheers Penny

Morning Dita and all, hugs and kisses for doggie and puss, Had the last estimate for the roof today, almost half the cost of the first one so we are going ahead, hubby did manage to repair in the meantime but has decided to start from scratch now. Very pleased Have to see when people are available now. Feel yucky this morning, no idea why. Old age I expect. Hubby of to heart hospital this p.m.for a check up and says we can go to farm foods on the way. Never known a day but what he hasn't thought of his tummy first. Made a loaf yesterday afternoon and cutting up the remains of the one from day before he said, I want the fresh one with my tea. One of these days grrrrrrrrrrrrr. Hope all are well and enjoying the weather, had a nice little shower early on but sunny again now. Take care all. cheers Penny

Morning Penny and all. I was thinking about that estimate for 7k, it dearer than what our house cost in 1976. Anyway you sound to have got it sorted now at half that, which is good. Know that old lethargic feeling Penny, me the same. Doggie sends big hugs today, just for you, walkies was good today. No rain yet. Hope Hubby's check up goes well, he will be ready for a good tuck in later. Take care Penny :) and all.
