Morning Dita and all, nice and fresh today, no rain so far. Good walkies time doggie, big hugs. Big kiss for puss, hope you are feeling better. Been busy this morning, making a loaf for you know who for tea and making marmalade. Made such a lot earlier in the year but you know who piles it on his toast every morning so had to dig out a load of oranges from the freezer, Good job I stocked up well. Just waiting for it to finish simmering and then I can hopefully have a quiet afternoon. Had a quote from a local man, almost half the original so going ahead with a new roof. Take care all and have a good weekend. cheers Penny

Hi, everyone . It's dry here and intermittently sunny; still a bit muggy but much, much better than a couple of weeks ago. I'm feeling smug and virtuous because I've just finished a great big pile of ironing so now I think I've earned a mug of tea. Lucy Katt has gone out in a huff because I woke her up putting up the ironing board - for reasons I've never worked out, she loathes the sound of the ironing board :dunno: . A quiet day all round, I think; I''ve got a few outstanding emails to catch up on and then the trashy thriller on my Kindle awaits ...

Hi Penny and all. Quite cool here too, very little sunshine. Lots hugs today for you Penny, plenty energy for walkies. Years and years ago I worked at a jam factory called Springs and they produced Marmade, have you heard of it Penny? The jam factory closed a long while ago. I love my Kindle Fire Andere, have loads of books waiting for me to read. Hope you are enjoying your weekend. Take Care Penny :) and all.

Morning Dita and all, nice weather for walkies and cooler for pussy. Give doggie big hug from me. The marmalade under the name of Springs is still sold Dita, it says they sell it at Tesco. Would not have known it myself as I have always made my own. Hubbies mother always made hers and passed the recipe and know how on to me. Just been in the freezer searching for the last pile of oranges ready for the next lot. Looking at the last label I made a lot in June of this year, now it looks as thought I can make one more lot and then hubby will have to try shop bought. Too early to buy the oranges required. Just been called, have to go, take care all and have a good Sunday. cheers Penny

Hi Penny and all. Nice walkie weather, doggie has been very busy playing footie with my D.I.L the last couple of days, and today my cousin Tony popped in for an hour just? to play with her, so she's been busy, lots of hugs for you as well. Interesting that Springs Mamade is still sold, must admit I have never looked for it in Tesco, we don't eat much marmalade. Springs used to produce all jams, one speciality besides Marmade was Henry Springs Lemon Curd. Got to have a think what we are having for tea. Take Care Penny :) and all.

Hi, everyone - much cooler here; I had to pull my duvet up last night because I was shivering! It's probably anything but cool in Penny's kitchen after all those boiling oranges but I expect the results will be worth it. Have a rest now, gal - life's too short for shredding peel (as Shirley Conran didn't say). I'm in need of a lie-down as I recklessly decided to go to the supermarket instead of getting the stuff delivered. Phew! Why are these places always full of idiots? They drive their trolleys straight at you with no hint of being in control and you leap for safety and panic as you realise that they're about to go outside and drive all that stuff home in their cars now! He-e-ee-lp!

Hi Penny and Andere, its much cooler here too, we must order an happy medium day or two, instead of one or the other. Penny I bet your kitchen smells lovely, what with the oranges and the fresh bread. Can you hear me yet? I really hate shopping round the supermarkets these days Andere, we prefer on line to avoid all the carry on trying to get round the place. However, sometimes we do not want a full shop and so have to suffer now and again. Cuddles and hugs from doggie today Penny, would have been nice if we had joined up for the walkies :) Take Care Penny and allx

Good morning on a slightly cooler one - so far.

Puss is grateful for all the kisses, Penny. She had her second steroid shot yesterday, and we were in and out of there like lightning without her even knowing she'd had the needle. She has the cage type of carrier with a very comfy thick plush mat, and can be treated while still sitting in there. This saves her a lot of trauma like jumping down and trying to hide somewhere on the consulting room floor. Or freaking out (uncharacteristically but desperate) at whoever holds her. But she knows this lady vet very well by now and the vet knows to have the syringe ready before calling us in.

All was well afterwards too.

What lovely news to come into. I adore animals, pity him indoors won't allow any more. Shattered today, finally labelled marmalade and stored in outer fridge. Made 18 jars in total, wonder how many weeks they will last. Never mind, easy day today. Seeing Doc tomorrow ,fingers crossed. The ear clinic on Friday. Hate this getting older bit. Two timing birds, all down the fields today where corn is being cut. Only have doves and pigeons small birds and tits at the mpment. Lots of big hugs for doggie and lots of kisses for pussie for being so good at the vets. Take care all. Have a good day whilst this weather holds. cheers Penny

Just adding this on for info. Making sure I did not spend too much time at the cooker did American BBQ ribs. We had called in to Farm Foods and I thought worth a try. Simply delicious. Only take 8 mins in the micro. They are on offer at £5. for two packs. In each pack there are two packets, I thought it might be a bit much but of course the bones take up a lot of the weight. I did a pack each, bubby had his with baked beans and a baked potato, I just had the meat. There is a lot of gorgeous gravy with each so take care when opening. Had to tell you this, said to hubby, use the kitchen paper to pick up the bones, what did he do, put the fork in and the gravy shot all down his clean white shirt and to top it all, he mopped it up with a clean white serviette. grrrr :roflmao: Good job I have a sense of humour. cheers Penny :sunglasses:

Hi Dita and all, big hugs today doggie lovely time for walkies. Big kiss for pus, hope still happy. Saw Doc this morning, seems my rash is thrush. I looked amazed and she said, it is from the heat where the skin meets and rubs. Have to have my boobs shrunk. Had the Doc in fits today, talking about my ears, syringe on Friday. We were chatting and I said, one consolation, hubby is short on patience and when he shouts I can smile and ignore him. She nearly fell off her chair laughing, and said, in that case do you want your hearing restored, I said, well yes, I will pretend and ignore him. She laughed so much and was still laughing when I Ieft. So plenty of cream for skin and tablets increased slightly for blood pressure. Now, awaiting Friday for the dreaded syringe and hopefully will be able to carry out my threat to ignore him. Wicked devil aren't . Take care all and have a good day. cheers Penny  :grouphug:

Penny I just nipped back to see if you'd been on. You did make me laugh, but, my hubby is in desperate need of an ear clean out, I have to repeat things at least 3 times and its ruddy annoying, so do have a certain ammount of sympathy. I get hives which itches like hell and it appears in creases same as you, the more you itch it the worse it is, finish up with red patches surrounding big bumps. Yes! you are very wicked, butt I like you :)

Hi, all - Hope the cream works, Penny and that the syringing will do magic on the lug 'oles. If your OH gets unbearable, just stick some cottonwool in, smile and shrug and say that maybe the treatment didn't work properly. Oh, and make him wash his own messed-up shirts, too.

Hope everyone else is OK and Vannin's cat still being stoical about the needle.
The sun is still just about shining here but it's clouding over after a really lovely morning. Better go and see if the sheets are dry yet...
