Hi Penny. I hope you feel better very soon. Poor you, it sounds like something other than a side-effect of medication. Did the doctor give you Dioralyte? Revolting stuff but rehydrates you, replenishing the body salts.

Hi, all - hope you're feeling a little better by now, Penny? It's so easy to pick up these bugs and they can make you feel so low, so quickly. Added too the ear trouble, you must be feeling doubly wretched. Be kind to yourself and take it easy 'til you're better. Lucy Katt thinks purrs and nuzzles might help, so she's sending you lots of them. :bighugs:
Hope everyone else is OK and Vannin's cat not suffering too much? It's a lovely sunny and warm day here; the washing was out on the line early and the ice-cream vans are out in force, jangling up and down the roads. Who on earth buys ice-cream at 11:30 in the morning? They never seem to have any customers, anyway :dunno:

Hi Dita and all., been busy doing my tests, takes a time. Hubby took results to surgery only to be told I had done the test right but had to do the same thing 3 times. I had mis read and done it twice. As I don't have to eat for8 hours before means another day without food. That doesn't bother me at the moment as I can't taste anything. Hope doggie enjoys walkies today, just the right weather. Big hugs from me, hope her tummy is better. Big kiss for pussie. Did you see in the paper today about the cat stealing clothing from neighbours. Very funny. Hope everyone else is well and enjoying this summer, looks like we have it a little longer. Take care, cheers Penny

Morning Dita and al, and doggie of course. Big hugs. Hope the cooler weather suits you better. Off for weekly shop today. Hubby rang hospital today about his appointment date, such a do, seems lady who did book etc has retired and no appointment has been entered. How ever, nice new one is going to arrange something and ring back tomorrow. What a mess these hospitals are in, or should say some of them. Still waiting for my ear appointment, cannot get anything until Friday.30th. Must stop this, getting like a medical column. Sorry, just no one else to discuss things with. Do hope all are well and enjoying the cooler weather. Seems later this afternoon it is going to get hotter. Have you ever heard. Must away, I cannot stay, have to go where fairies play, I can remember saying this often as a very young girl. Still use it today. IDIOT. Take care. cheers Penny

Hi Penny and all. It has turned very humid, we have just come back from our weekly shop, called at the Range on the way and bought a couple of plants to put in two containers for our small pebbled front garden. Quite happy to discuss hospital let downs Penny, our N.H.S is getting into such a state, just heard on the local news, a young woman has been suffering a serious bowel illness for 15yrs, she has been on umpteen pills all these years while a cure is found. The local hospital she attends who promised her that they were now going help her at last, have now declined because they are unable to do the procedure there, she died this week of accidental overdosage of her medication. Gotta take doggie out for walkies, won't be going very far, its hot.
She does send lots of hugs in your direction Penny :) I love that little poem, had not heard it. Thanks I will text it to my Grandaughter. Take Care and keep your chin up :) and all.

When you send the text to your grandaughter put this one in too. I use it on him indoors. No idea where it came from. I always think it fits well as a sarcastic apology. ' Sorry Mrs Arden, pussy cat's in the garden. '

Hugs again for doggie. cheers Penny

Doggie sends big hugs, she not very keen on walkies today, it hot. Will send a text about Mrs Arden on to Grandaughter, she is in France with Mum, Dad and Taz the doggie, it is very hot there too. Gonna keep a low profile today and keep out the sun, bet you are too. Keep your chin up as you wait for your results and hubby's appointment Penny :) Take Care, and all.

Morning Dita and all, big hugs for doggie. Understand how she feels, hubby is sitting in the shade somewhere. Just vanished the vacuuming and putting in a couple of loaves No peace for the wicked they say. Spent a pleasant evening with son down on the lake. He and family have spent the week water skiing. They are off to do the same on the sea from Saturday for another week. Hubby been on to the hospital, seems the lady who did the records has left, been made redundant. She seems to have got rid of hubbies details but new lady rang back this morning and his appointment is at 7.30 one morning early in September.
One problem settled at last. Having a salad for lunch so apart from sorting washing am going to have a quiet afternoon (????) Tke care all and have a lovely Friday. cheers Penny

Oh, what a blast from the past! I remember my mother saying that - well, her version was 'Pardon, Mrs Arden, the cat's got in your garden' - but near enough. She would say it, like you say, as a sarky apology or among friends and family if she hiccupped or burped. I've never heard it anywhere else until now. Mom came from Birmingham and said she'd known it since she was a child - maybe it's a regional thing?
