Can't wait to hear result vannin, keeping fingers crossed. Have had a talk with the weatherman and puss should be o.k. from now for a while. Morning Dita and all. Hope all are keeping well. Much cooler and nice and sunny. Regarding shouting at me, have a word with hubby for me, I told him I was going to slit his voice box this morning. Voice like a foghorn. Hope doggie is now enjoying this cool period, big hugs for today. Just an odd one, does any one have problems with typing too fast. I keep telling myself to slow down but every time I postI have to go thro and separate every word. Haveleftone joined up bit to show what I mean. Take care all and have a good day. cheers Penny

Well, we are back! I have not done vet visits on Saturday mornings since many years ago, at a different vet. They had a backlog and running an hour late today. Happily, Trixie settled down for a snooze in the waiting room - wish I could have done likewise. Once on the table though  her not me, she turned into this lashing-out she-devil. Not surprising as it was two jabs. She had to have antibiotic as well as steroid because the sore patches at the ears were infected. Her poor paws are sore too. There was actually a third jab because the steroid one, which is into muscle, made her yell and move so the syringe fell out and the remainder was then injected subcutaneously. So I hope it works, poor love.

Barry the taxi is good. Sometimes he waits there to run us home. If it is likely to be longer, he goes and transports another fare and comes back for us. Today he had been back from the other fare and still waited half an hour (the payment at the desk is not quick either) So I paid him double the amount for his time - he had been messed about during the week when I had to change it twice, and I don't want to lose the convenience of this.

Today, apart from dogs and cats, I saw a huge lop-eared rabbit, guinea pig, hamster and ferret. So its all happening. Trixie is just sitting quietly in the kitchen.

We must have posted at the same time Vannin, poor pussy it cannot be very nice to have that done, all the itching and feeling so uncomfortable much of the time is bad enough, bless her. Hope now its a bit cooler the infection and irritation soon clears up, her paws being sore is cetainly a hazard.
Hope the medication sorts her out quickly Vannin. :( to :)

I hope so too vannin, poor puss must be dreadful. Just finished lunch, hubby watching motor racing and now in his usual slumbering position. Nothing new, still considering making blueberry jam. Take care all, doggie hugs and soft pussie kisses. cheers Penny

If I can't find the volume control for my own OH, what chance do I stand with yours? Mine's always bellowing when he thinks he's just having a normal conversation and I'm not deaf. Sometimes, I suspect that he is because he's got no idea how loud he is. If the Tannoy at the station breaks down, he'd be able to do train announcements without it, no trouble! Maybe it's just a man-thing?

I've had that problem quite a lot since I got the current laptop. It's a Toshiba, same as the last one but the keyboard has a completely different 'spring' to it and seems to require a much heftier strike on some of the keys, especially the space-bar, the 'e', the 'a' and the 'n', so I run words together and miss out letters unless I slow down - which is really irritating when I'm in full flow.

Poor Trixie! But let's hope the treatment works and that we've seen the last of the excessively hot dry weather so she has a chance to recover. Your tales (I almost typed 'tails' there!) of missed appointments reminded me of the time we first got Lucy. She'd had her first vaccinations from the rescue-centre's vet and I made an appointment for the second round at our vets. OH had to take the car for MOT that morning, so I persuaded my daughter to come over with her car to give us a ride. Lucy disappeared!! Most of the internal doors were closed; the cat-flap was locked because she wasn't being allowed out at that stage; there were only 2 rooms she could be in and she wasn't in either of them. We checked drawers, cupboards, under things, over things, behind things. We moved the cooker and the fridge and I even checked inside my wellies which were standing about. No Lucy so I phoned the vets and made ingratiating apologies - the receptionist thought it was hilarious. I made another appointment for the following day and daughter prepared to go home at which point, Lucy appeared in the hall with that faintly perplexed expression that says 'You were calling me? What's the problem?' I scooped her up into the carrier and rang the vets again and they said, OK, bring her along now and we'll fit her in. I had to buy daughter lunch to compensate for a wasted morning and I STILL don't know where the little wretch was hiding!
Get well soon, Trixie!

Hi Dita, vannin, Andere, doggies and pussies and all who are about. Lovely and sunny but windy and rather cool. Had a lunch out, quite unexpected but very nice. Nothing planned, hubby now in his usual position so definitely doing nothing today. Am surprised at the change in temperature. I got quite chilly and put on a cardi. This should be fine for puss and doggie, big hugs and kisses for today. Passed dozens of cyclists doing their charity stint, just the right weather for them. Have a good day all and take care. cheers Penny

Hello everyone. Still a bit cold here too. Trixie very much better today and very cuddly, slept on my lap for two long periods yesterday and again today. So at least I don't feel I am in the doghouse for inflicting the early part of yesterday on her.

Good morning Penny and all. Its not your year for leaks, its always the same, at least you dont have to go through the searching for estimates again. Locking hubby in his room with computer a good idea, then starving him for a bit Penny, anyway Doggie sends you many many hugs today. Lots of outside work waiting to be completed here, but tv seems to take priority Grr!. We have not had any rain as yet but clouds keep forming. Blueberry jam sounds good, I've never tried it. Take care of yourself and keep your chin up Penny :) and all.

Good morning Penny, Dita and all. Penny I hope you are having a better week.
Trixie still cuddly and the blot on the horizon will be the next appointment. On the 19th, this time the nurse will bathe her patches still affected by then, using Frontline from a bottle. I tried doing this myself last year but it was very hit-and-miss.
This annual nightmare for poor pets can continue right into October (from the end of July) Just not fair, is it? There is no easy remedy, but I am told there could be a de-sensitizing programme if I could get tablets into her. There again, it would be a bloodbath (mine) if attempted at home!

Morning Dita, vannin and all. So sorry Trixie will have to go thro' all that again, it is a shame. I do hope it won't be so painful this time. Poor puss. Wish I was closer to give her a cuddle. Looking round at my bits and pieces the whole kitchen is full of cats on trays, mugs, plates etc. My grandchildren always buy these things, knowing how I miss my puss. How is doggie today Dita, enjoying the walkies. Nice and cool for them now. Big hugs and kisses all round from me. Had a lovely surprise this a.m. In the kitchen as usual, saw lots of tits, and watched them for a while. Discovered they are once again using the box on the wall with the camera inside so have spent some time enjoying their antics. Hubby came to see and is still sitting watching. Hope all are enjoying today, much cooler but we don't want the rain we had yesterday. Talk about a torrent. Good job we are having the roof on the garage done soon, will have to have the edges of the conservatory done as the storm yesterday caused a huge leak. Never rains but what it pours, as they say. Take care all. cheers Penny

Morning Penny, Vannin and all. Sorry for little Trixie, bless her cannot really blame her for getting a bit stroppy, so irritating. Late going for wet walkies today, had to go out early. Anyway all done and dusted now, and big hugs wending in your direction Penny. How great to have a camera sneaking a peep at little birdies, are they Blue tits, Great tits or other? they are such interesting little birds to watch. We were in Tesco today, its ok having all these damn offers 2 for such and such amount, but when there is only 2 in the family and its stuff you cannot hold in stock it seems a bit unfair, they seem to be doing more and more of it too. Grr! Hope you are looking after yourselves Penny :) Vannin and all.
