Been for a lovely lunch out with the usual half dozen. We used to call ourselves the Saga Louts because we met through Saga Zone. Six ladies and a man (he loves it) This was in Marlow where the Thames flows usually colourfully but today just grey . Big mist which was clearing when we sat down to our big lunch. Coming home, it was/is/ a perfect Summer's day.

My chuntering is all behind me now - it is amazing what socialising , good food and 'just a drop' of something does for you. We are onto every other month now, it used to be monthly.

Penny, I had the dental inspection last week and was told all fine but make apptmt with the hygienist. I find that more of a nuisance than anything. It will be the same week as the flu jab.

So pleased your day went well vannin, funny how life changes day to day. Keep it up. My next appointment is in November with the dentist and then every three months I see one or the other in turn. A pain but better than losing teeth I guess. Must do a check up on our flu jab. Keep forgetting but must be soon. Take care and have a good day. Hope puss is behaving, tell her I am watching. cheers Penny. :grouphug:

Good morning Penny and all. You got a bit of peace and quiet today, wish I had, he's always under my feet one way another :) I 've been having a dust round too, got a man coming round later, he is gonna look round to see if we can get a wall insulated from the outside, it is money allocated to the village from the windfarm which was put up a few years ago, we used to get £200 per year to help with our electricity bills, the windfarm company was then sold off and this new company is offering money to have work to help insulation of houses in the village. Why the heck he wants to inspect every room in the house for something we want doing outside is beyond me, but we'll see. Big hugs to you Penny, we have had a misty walk today. Take care Penny :) and all.

Just a quickie Dita, hubby says they can only do the insulating from the outside if you have cavity walls. If not, they will have to do from inside which will make the rooms about 4 inches smaller each side. I didn't know that. We had ours done years ago, well worth it. Off to do the weekly shop, big hugs for doggie. Catch all later. cheers Penny

Good morning Penny and everyone, are you late or me early? Its nice and sunny at the moment but mi finks clouds are starting to form. That guy was here over 2hrs yesterday, took pics and measurements of in and outside the house, he was a surveyor who after he'd done all that, asked us questions about all sorts of stuff to do with heating and our electric use, he told us that our energy saving were good and it would be beneficial to us if Solar Wall would do the long outside wall which was keeping lots of heat out of the property. We live in an end terrace, will have to wait and see how much money the windfarm and council are willing to fork out. It is not just for us, other folk in the village may have diffferent requirements. Bit complicated innit. Lovely doggie walk today, she sends big cuddles to you Penny. Keep your chin up Penny :) and all.

Just read what your hubby said Penny, our cavity walls are too small to have that done, but they somehow are able to do the job on the wall from the outside, not the inside. Solar Panel is the company, we would not have the inside done anyway.

We have no problems Penny, because we in the village have been allocated money from the nearby Windfarm, they have been round to see what would benenfit us, there is only 40 houses, because we do not need community centre, kids playground etc which is sometimes a way of using the money, it is being used to help the villagers. We cannot have the cavity wall injections because we do not have enough gap in the walls, but it is possible to line the outside walls instead with thermal insulation sheets which is then skimmed with special stuff. Our end wall would greatly benefit because we lose alot of heat through it. Hopefully our share of the money allocated will be sufficient enough to do the job, it depends on what other folk in the village need too. Hope you understand what I have written.

Good afternoon Penny and all. Been to tesco for a bit of a shop, hate it and often order online to avoid but needed some petrol, took advantage of their 5p off a gallon offer. Doggie sends hugs, we are off walkies shortly, guess you will not be coming cos you'll be chattering 50 to the dozen. Nice day the sun shining so maybe get in the garden for a bit of weeding later. Take care Penny :) and all.

That boat looks simply lovely Dita. Telling our old friends today, he showed me pics of a boat at some Raddle wharf (think that was the name). He was telling me how the canal boats used to deliver stuff to this wharf, transfer stuff to open boats which were then taken to boats for sea journeys. Very interesting. I will show hubby your pic when I can drag him away from the news. Our friends have just gone. Usually stay until about 9 but he is like us all, getting on a bit and didn't want to drive in the dark. Off to get tea for two now. Take care and thanks for lovely pic. cheers Penny

Good morning Penny and all. Cousins boat is called Willow, he has yet to put it on the front because he having the original replaced it was a bit tatty. Where I used to live we had canal boats which loaded grain and did much the same as you describe. Its a lovely day again for doggie walkies, she invited you and sends big hugs. Have hubby's family here tomorrow, they are taking us out for a meal to celebrate our wedding anniversary 34yrs, and of course that is our second time round because we were both married previously. Take care Penny :) and all.

Hope you have a lovely day tomorrow Dita, our old friends cameas I said yesterday, she is now 97 and he must be 89. I said to her we will be hearing from the queen soon then and she said, make a note we have already booked to come here next March. Wonderful outlook. Enjoy walkies today and take my big hugs with you. Catching up on clearing up today. We had some wooden stairs made 30 plus years ago and Hubby had one room for photography a small one for developing and me another for sewing. Using the loft spaces as it is rather large. One of the steps came adrift and hubby was lucky not to be hurled downstairs. We have done what is necessary and replaced the step and sealed it so there is no chance of it happening again, fingers crossed, and as our friends arrived we had to leave the place a bit dusty. So, catching up today. Just in case pussies are about, big kisses to all. Must say, the boat is looking a treat. Have a lovely day. Take care, cheers Penny
