What a grand age and a very active couple too, as you say she has a wonderful outlook Penny. We have never done anything to our loft although it is big enough, other villages have done theirs and I wish we had converted ours too. Cannot see us doing anything now, as it is I find enough work to keep me going. Keep your chin up Penny :) and big hugs from you know who.

Had a lovely day yesterday, we went to the 'Hungry Horse for a meal, it was good. The only problem for me I could'nt eat it all, wish I'd had a kids size. Doggie sends big hugs, she has had fun chasing cats :) during walkies today. Hope you are well and keeping your chin up Penny :) and all.

Hi Dita and all, tried to get on here earlier to say have a good walkies but for some reason could not. Big higs today, hope you did not manage to catch a puss. Nothing unusual today, hubby off for heart check tomorrow so obviously we are all on edge. Why can't they do all these tests inn one day, save a lot of worry and nervousness for folk. Doing a cheese-bake today with a creamy sauce, chips and peas. Thought it would make a change. So pleased you had a good day yesterday. I usually have a small portion if I go out for a meal. No point in paying for stud that is going to be thrown away. The Inn we use are a lovely family group. Like me, they love birds so any pots or chips left over they don't mind at all when I put them in a bag to bring back even provide a bag if I forget. Have a lovely day and a good rest now. Take care all. cheers Penny. p.s. Monsy was very mean not to share steve, I would have given him back after.

Morning Dita and all., Happy first of October. Lovely and sunny so far. Out to the club for lunch, had not planned but taking our minds off hospital visit this afternoon. Made an error by saying cheese-bake Dita, meant chicken-bake which I bought in Costco. Not to be recommended. Birds had a nice feed. More about that later. Hope your walkies was good today doggie, big hugs from me and kisses for any pussies about. Take care all and enjoy today. cheers Penny

Hi, everyone - back from my travels and at last got time to sit at PC doing non-essential stuff. Hope everyone's well, dogs and cats included. It's a lovely morning here for dog-walking, I could almost wish I had one! (It's OK, Lucy's not reading this over my shoulder). Best wishes and fingers x-ed for Penny's OH and his cardiac stuff; hope it all goes well and there's no bad news.

Had a lovely, idle (apart from shopping) few days at the Belgian seaside last week. The weather was kind to us and we were able to just potter about in the sunshine in between bouts of eating and drinking. Now all the fresh food I brought back with me is gone so I'm waiting for the man from Ocado to arrive with refills for my fridge.

Talking of food, Dita, my favourite potato & cheese bake is like this: Serves 2 - scrub two large spuds and slice them thinly; peel and thinly slice a large onion (optional); slice or grate about 250g of tasty cheese - strong Cheddar, Red Leicester, Double Gloucester or whatever is your favourite. Grease an ovenproof dish with a close-fitting lid and arrange in layers, starting with potatoes on the bottom and ending with potatoes on the top and adding a grind of fresh pepper to each layer (also optional). Put in the centre of the oven at Gas Mark 3/160C and just go away and forget it for at least 2 and a half hours. Turn the oven down a bit and you can leave it for up to 5 hours if someone's stuck in traffic and late for dinner! IME, the longer it sits in the oven, the better it tastes.

Just in case you are short of time, a good idea is to boil the potatoes whole for 3- 5 mins, just to soften a little. Slice when they are cold. cheers Penny

Morning Dita and all, Good news at last, hubby o.k. just has to make sure he doesn't do any straining to lift anything heavy. (told him he will not be able to put me to bed any more) ha ha. So, all over I hope, I told him now that he has a clean sheet he has no excuse for sitting around in an armchair all day. We will see how it goes. Miserable day here. Just having savoury mince for lunch.Bighugs for doggie, won't be a very nice day for walkies. Never mind, get mommy to play football with you. Kisses for pussies, stay indoors today. Take care all. cheers Penny
