Good morning Penny and all. So pleased to hear hubby ok, will lend him my exercise back for a bit if he would like :) Loved the putting you to bed remark, my imagination gone into overdrive Ha HA.. We had rain during walkies today, she not happy bunny and needs your hugs Penny. Been to Sainsburys for a bit of a shop, had been told that their British Duck in Plum Sauce + Egg Fried Rice were yummy, so have bought a couple. Has anyone tried them? Hi Deja :) Take Care Penny and all.

Good afternoon, all - the sun has just come out following a rainy start then hours of grey-ness. I'm not getting over-excited, though -Weatherwoman on breakfast radio said it wouldn't last... sigh.

Penny, I'm so glad Hubby's OK, the relief must be enormous for both of you. Give him a big hug :bighugs: then sign him up for one of those fitness-for-the-totally-unfit classes where people sit about in chairs tossing cans of beans around. Or send him round here and he can use my exercise bike and rowing machine when I'm not - which is most of the time. I'll have to start using them again, last week's excesses are beginning to show and it's time to do something about it. But not until after dinner. Baked gammon and honey-roast parsnips tonight, yum! I do love parsnips.

Thanks Andere, I would be delighted to send hubby round to you if I could lift him out of his chair. We have been lucky, rain has kept off so far. The roast parsnips sound good, gammon never been my thing. Think I might end up a vegetarian. Have a good feed and watch the waistline. cheers Penny

Hi, all - not much to report from my corner of the world this morning. Life seems very quiet and unremarkable which is, I suppose, a Good Thing!
Penny, don't hurt yourself trying to heft that man out of his chair!! Actually, I'm having the same trouble with mine at present. Sometimes, I suspect he has become welded to the seat. I've just thrown a tantrum and told him that, if he doesn't get off his posterior and empty the dishwasher, there'll be no more meals because I won't have any clean plates and cutlery, etc. and I don't really understand why it's my job to prepare, cook, clean up AND put away. All I got was a grunt in response so we'll see what happens.

Oh! I was just about to hit 'Submit' when I heard the sound of dishes clattering from downstairs. Nothing works so well as a good, strategic tantrum

Must try that method. Morning Dita, Andere and all. A little late this morning, preparing for normal shopping trip and lunch with son. Catch you later. Hope you didn't get any broken dishes, I keep getting chipped ones, wonder if it is worth all the bother. Big hugs for doggie and kisses for pussies. Hope all are well. Take care, catch you later. cheers Penny

Good morning Penny, Andere and all. Hope you enjoying your shop and lunch with your son Penny, nice walkie day, this little doggie sends you many hugs today.
Blimey I would not like to get the wrong side of you Andere, he obviously did as he was told, so it works, along with Penny I must try it. Been collecting apples, they are dropping, will be freezing then later turning them into crumbles. Hubby enjoyed the Duck, Plum and rice meal, but I was not too keen.
Keep your chin up Penny :) Andere and all.

Hi all, had a lovely lunch with son, he only just made it, but enjoyed chattering for a time. Had just bought a new phone for my grandson, £140. Can you believe it. I was just as shocked shopping in Sainsbury today, prices are really over the top now. Back to the usual now, guess where he is.?? Can't win can we Dita. Take care and enjoy the rest of the day. Just started to rain here. I am ready for those hugs. cheers Penny

Morning Dita and all, Hope weather is o.k. your way. Rather breezy here but not cold. A little rain forecast for later. Hope all fine for walkies, big hugs from me kisses for any pussies about. I expect most are staying indoors today. Just doing a joint of pork today. Fancied a roast dinner and pork is my favourite. Nothing new at the moment, will get back to you if (a big if) something exciting occurs. Take care all, cheers Penny

Good morning Penny and all. Bit drizzly here but still warm, doggie not too happy with walkies cos she gets muddy tootsies and not out very long, big hugs on the way to you Penny despite of everything. Very slow moving here too, at this house not much going on. Hope you enjoy your roast pork, one of my favs usually smother apple sauce on it. Talking of which, made large crumble with our own apples yesterday, have now to freeze more apples to use during the winter. Take care of yourself Penny :) and everyone.

Thanks Dita, have apple sauce at the ready. Wish I lived closer, my hairdresser used to supply me with apples and plums for the year in exchange for marmalade , relish, and home-made bread. but not any more, she has retired and globe-trotting. Have a good day. cheers Penny

Afternoon Penny and all. It is not too bad a day here, clouds keep coming and going, sun in between, not bad walkies today, doggie quite happy to send you hugs Penny :) Hubby has a real liking for choc chip cookies, we always have to buy those chunky ones when doing the shop, wish I could get back into bread baking again, bought stuff is horrid soggy and pathetic nowadays and we eat as little as possible.Made my own for many years then machine died, so out the habit. Hope you enjoyed your Pork Roast yesterday. Take Care Penny, chin up :) and all.

Hello, all - Sorry, haven't posted for a couple of days as I was busy with all sorts of stuff and didn't have much time for light relief. I've spent most of today in the kitchen, making vats of soup for the freezer/lunches and making a weird, experimental pasta sauce with black kale. Trouble is, I've no idea whether it tastes any good or not 'cos I've caught OH's rotten cold and now I can't smell or taste anything :(

It's been pretty grey here most of the day so I don't really mind that I don't feel like going anywhere. Good job I haven't got a dog, really, isn't it? Lucy Katt is definitely getting ready for winter; she's grown a beautiful thick & glossy winter coat already and she's done little else but sleep since she came home from the cattery last Monday.

That roast pork sounded good, Penny - do you do yours with crackling? Yes, I know what the health police say about that but it's so nice!

Hope you are feeling a little better now Andere, this wretched cold business seems to be all around. Going for Flu jab next week. Yes, my favourite part is a real crackley piece of crackle. Pork was superb yesterday, could not do anything with crackle tho'. soft breast of pork.it is from a local farm who rear their own pigs, so tender, it is unbelievable. You will have to make your own choc chip cookies Dita. Made 18 today. Got sick of seeing the prices of biscuits in Sainsbury. Hugs and kisses. Take care. cheers Penny.
