Evenin' all! Hope everyone's been having a good day despite the increasing cost of living. Gas, lekky AND red wine all rising in price: it's outrageous. You can't even drown your sorrows decently any more! And, no Dita, Lucy Katt has never concerned herself about the price of gas. She considers that to be entirely my responsibility for some reason. She's exhausted today because she went out for her evening stroll about 9pm last night and didn't return until around 6 this morning. Goodness only knows what she was up to but OH says she came slinking in through the cat-flap like a cat with a guilty conscience and has slept soundly in her own bed almost all day since. That's unusual behaviour - she generally likes to be home when we go to bed so she can try to wheedle her way in with us and I lock the flap shut to keep her safely indoors and away from cat-nappers.

Oh, and I do wish my OH would stir himself to paint the odd wall ... or fix the million and one things he's always going to do 'one day' ... or take out the rubbish and recycling instead of assuming that it's my job ... but, hey, he'll never change now (and maybe I wouldn't like him if he did).

Morning Dita, Andere and all, started off very dull but now bright and sunny. We all sond as tho' we have the same problems with men. Last week I got browned off asking for a certain job to be done so I wrote down a list, putting. Jobs to be done' and placed it near the telephone. You will never guess, I got one job done and it wasn't even on the list. Had to laugh. Might be worth a try .Just having salad today, did ask but him indoors said he fancied it. Waiting for news from son he is off to the coast this evening so hope all went well with his tooth yesterday. Big hugs for doggie and kisses for puss. Hope your painting dried off well yesterday Dita. Take care all and have a good day. cheers Penny

Good morning Penny Andere and all. Here weather gone dull, opposite to you. What has that Lucy Katt been up to, I wonder?? had a laugh at your account of her slinking in like naughty teenager. Hubby gone to have his hearing checked, must say its lovely and quiet here, no TV blaring out, me not having to repeat everything, bliss. As for the wall, it does look better but will need another coat, lord knows when that will get done though. We have been here 36yrs, for about 10 of them I have been suggesting a paint session, 2yrs ago paint was bought and yippee it was used yesterday. Big hugs from doggie it was a good walk today, no wind and not too cold. Keep your chin up Penny :) hope your son now pain free. Take care Andere and all.

Hit Dita, just heard from son, a bit painful and heavy bruising but apart from that, keeping fingers crossed. He has a medical check this p.m. so now awaiting that before he goes off for a week. Funny how one worry is solved and another crops up. cheers Penny

Hi everyone. It was quite bright but now looks like rain. Just in time for the weekend - what a surprise. OH has just gone off to get his flu vaccination so I have an hour's peace and quiet. I was supposed to be meeting a friend for lunch but she decided she doesn't want to see me because I still have a few cold symptoms and she's neurotic about avoiding viruses. She doesn't have any immune deficiencies or anything, she's just a tad weird about these things.
Lucy Katt is a little more lively today and eating as if cat-food's going on ration in the morning. She sends purrs to all other forum cats and dogs.
Just read your recent post, Penny - I'm sure he'll be fine. Think of your BP and stop worrying, gal.

Hello everyone on this dull weekend. But not cold, is it? In the week, I had the dental hygienist and the flu jab. Mouth and arm both remained a bit tender but only to be expected. They are offering the shingles jab now, but I think it is the age group 79 and over - may be wrong.

Trixie is fairly OK but is now scratching madly to get rid of various scabs that formed when the harvest mite was in residence doing its worst. Though they do stay around from mid July to late October. Not fair, is it. But I am sure she would send love if she actually appeared today. It is now after 11.30 and I have had no sight or sound of her.

Happy weekend!

Just to say all is well. She appeared just now at 1.30, 15 hours after I last saw her at bedtime - though she did come in and eat during the night. Thank goodness, I was quietly frantic. I know many cats go off for ages but not this one. Twice she had awaydays 9 till 5. I wondered if she had become employed!

Good morn/aft Penny, Vannin & all, poor little Trixie she has certainly had her fill of problems this year, pleased to hear that despite of her still suffering irritation she is giving you a bit of a run around by having a secret or two, which she is keeping to herself. Dry today but had plenty of rain overnight, this means it was very muddy walkies this morning, plenty hugs Penny which means you get a bit blathered doing it :) Don't usually look forward to visiting the dentist but I'll be happier when the 29th arrives when exit one tooth. Take care of yourself Penny :) Vannin and all

Morning Dita, and all. Nice and sunny here at the moment. Decided to go out for lunch, a bit browned off staying in all the time. Trouble with small villages, always fine until you want transport. Do hope doggie enjoys her walkies today, big hugs from me and big kisses from me if pussies are up and about . Do hope your tooth is keeping quiet Dita, seems along wait to get it seen to. Fingers crossed, won't belong now. Take care all and have a lovely weekend. cheers Penny. :grouphug:

Morning Penny and all. Hope you have an enjoyable lunch out. You sound a bit like me, this is a very small village too, we have only a postbox and 40 odd houses, as winter approaches the folk here either jump in their cars and go to work each day, or hibernate. One bus on a friday which picks up at 10.10am and returns 12am, this leaves you a very short time for shopping because it takes 20mins travel time each way which is included. Quite nice for walkies but still muddy down the lane, big hugs for you Penny with promise of no mud on paws :) Tooth behaving at the moment thankgoodness, am counting the days though. Keep your chin up Penny :) take care, and all who pop in.

Afternoon all.
It has been a ghastly day today. Very dark and raining. But it has been so mild. I didn't need a coat on when I went shopping this morning.
Still feeling a little depressed since my knee operation. I have never felt like that before. Wanting to cry over nothing, but some say it's the anesthetic in the system. Must admit thankfully each day is getting better but taking a long time even though I am walking so much better and can climb stairs now. I sort of feel worse in myself than before I had my knee replacements.
Thankfully I have my family who visit often and I can visit.
Have others ever had depression after surgery only I never had any signs of this after I had my mastectomy 11 years ago.

Hi Mo good to see you on here, think you did brilliant having both your knees done at once. As you know my cousin had one done and now waiting to have the other one done, he has a leg problem too and because of this he really had a struggle walking for years before the op, anyway he had no problems as regards his knee. Not sure about the depression he has never indicated any such feelings, relief of pain was good for him. It has been a dark but dry day until now and its raining, what a day to clean the outside of the windows eh! Keep your chin up Mo :)
