Morning Dita, pleased you are O.K. Nice weather for a walkies today with lots of hugs to keep warm. Didn't watch Formula 1 myself, find it has got very boring. Very bright here today but rather cold and breezy. Hubby up in his usual office ,will see him when lunch is on the table. Had to alter some trousers yesterday, he says they have shrunk. I told him, no way have they shrunk, he is too heavy round the middle, he lies about in the chair too much, must learn to sit. He did think about it and now I say, sit up when he is lying in the chair and he has begun to try. The only time I ever see him sit properly is eating his meal and at the computer. He has I think, taken it in this time. See how long he makes the effort. Take care and keep warm. cheers Penny

forgot to suggest, watch Gareth Malone on BBC2 this evening. Brilliant young man, building a choir from groups of workers
Sorry, should have put MONDAY evening.

Hi, all - it's been an absolutely lovely autumn day here, slightly cold but very bright and sunny until around 7pm when it started pouring with rain and looks like it's never going to stop.
We had intended to go to North Hykeham today but decided we were too tired for the long drive after not getting much sleep due to fireworks in the early hours. Apart from a brief trip to the farm shop for some proper apples and a decent joint of beef we just mooched around at home.

Tonight's the first night of Diwalli and it's like a warzone out there, despite the rain. I thought it was a festival of lights but, around here, it's a festival of noise. And there are always odd people who let the neighbourhood start drifting off to sleep then fire off another one .. and 10 mins later, another one.. and so on. You can never find out who or where these people are to do anything about it, the noise travels so far. :tantrum2:

Lucy Katt is completely un-phased by all the racket and is currently sitting in the porch just taking it all in. Weird puss!

Morning Dita and all, Hope you get a quieter day today Andere. Funny,I only heard about four bangs last night, very quiet here. Lovely and sunny now, hope doggie enjoys walkies with hugs to keep warm. And big kisses for puss if still lolling about. Hubby just gone out to take some pictures, as usual, I am stuck in the kitchen. Hope you are fully recovered now Dita. Looking forward to watching Gareth this evening. Take care all. cheers Penny

Morning Penny, Andere and all. Beautiful day, went for a long walkies with enthusiastic little doggie, plenty sodden autumn leaves underfoot, have to be careful where one walks this time of year, lots of hugs coming your way Penny :) Andere, North Hykeham not that far from us, as you know, I remember our chat when you first came on here. Gainsborough which is a few mile away from here and the fact that my cousin lives near Newark, he has recently sold his house and now lives on his narrow boat at Newark. I used to live at Collingham when little. Penny your hubby out taking pics is a good sign, he is not reclining in his chair, well done. Think you need to have a rest from your chores while he is out. :) Keep your chin up, take care Penny, Andere, Lucy Katt and all.

Greetings, everyone from a very damp and soggy Essex. It's one of those days when I doubt it'll get properly light at all so I'm staying in and keeping warm and dry. I, too, had problems signing in yesterday but, as another forum I visit is on the same server and had a similar problem, I decided this was a case of 'them, not me!' and decided to leave it until today and all is mysteriously well again.

Not a lot is happening here; last night must have been the quietest Guy-Fawkes ever. After Saturday's noisy efforts, that's a great relief but there didn't seem to be many fireworks and what there were had all finished by about 10pm. OH noticed a house across the road had a spent rocket on the roof this morning(!) but it's gone now so I suppose the rain or the breeze dislodged it.

Lucy Katt sends purrs to anyone listening as well as commiserations to poor dogs being taken for walks in the rain.

Delighted it has all been sorted Dita. Good luck for tomorrow. Hubby got his paper today. He went out for lunch with a couple of old cronies, Slept the rest of the afternoon, just got up and on his computer, so all in all a very quiet and dull day for me. Thanks for hugs and kisses from puss. Need them today. Such miserable weather. Take care all. cheers Penny

Morning Dita and all, fingers crossed for Dita today. Soon be over and then nice walkies. Lots of hugs on the way. Out for the weekly shop and son is trying to meet us for lunch. He popped in last night. Strange, he has had his teeth done this week ,one filling and a clean up. Look very nice. Big kisses for pussy cats too. Lovely picture and story of a small kitten in the Daily Mail today. Anyone watch the Agatha Christie film last night, we turned off after about 30mins. Very dull and dark. He dies off this week, Friday I think, if it's as dull as last night I won't be watching. Take care all and have a good day Not very nice weather so far. Good Luck Dita. cheers Penny

Hi Penny and all. Done and dusted, just gotta wait for results now, had flu jab too. Been for short doggie walk, quite nice day for it, big hugs coming your way Penny :) My hubby loves Poirot, he's been wading through these last episodes which I find hard going too. He also watches the repeats on ITV 3 Grr!. Thought the last one is next Wed. Hope your son managed to meet up with you for lunch, and you had a good one. Gonna settle down with a cuppa and sort out in my head what I'm doing for tea. Keep your chin up Penny :) and take care, Lucy Katt, Andere and all.
