Hi Dita and all, . Sorry Forgot about your visitors Dita. Pleased all went well. Nothing new yet, just put in a leg of lamb for lunch. Wish I could grow old disgracefully too, no chance, can't get out unless with my keeper. Weather dark and cold again. Thought we were in for a little sunshine but none so far. Big hugs for doggie today, she will be worn out with all the fuss. Big kisses for puss too. So pleased news is staying good regarding OHs. Take care all and have a good week. Not many days to go now. cheers Penny

Hi Penny, Andere and all. Can smell that lamb from here Penny, yourself and hubby have probably eaten it by now and sat there with bulging tummies, hope you saved doggie a little meat, she rushed back and sent big hugs to you, in the hope. Will you tell Penny and I your secret regarding your NO hair loss Andere? honestly think anxiety is a good cause of mine. Mind you doggie loses lots of hair each day and she doesn''t have a care in the world, as does L Katt I would imagine. I do not get out much either unless him indoors offers, could kick myself really I have always driven until he retired and then he dived out and jumped in the driving seat before I got chance, gradually I have lost confidence it just happened through time Grr! Keep smiling Penny :) take care Andere and all.

Bereavement is a big cause of hair loss. My hair thinned a huge amount in the year following David's death. BUT the year after, it came back, not in the semi-wispy state but with a curliness I had never seen since childhood!!

Agreed! During my mother's last few months of life and shortly after her death I thought I was about to go completely bald. A similar thing happened after my father died and when my sister died very suddenly. Every time, I went and had it cropped into a really short pixie cut so the sparseness wasn't quite so noticeable until it improved. It really started to get a lot thicker and more plentiful when I was about 55 or 56 and I've no idea why. Definitely no secrets except maybe eating a well-balanced diet (most of the time. :choklit: )

Wet and windy but eerily warm here all day; Lucy Katt been asleep for most of it. I had to go into town for some odd errands earlier: I've never seen our town centre so busy on a Monday morning - it's usually the quietest day of the week. I was really glad to get home again out of the mayhem. I'm thinking of starting a campaign to make it compulsory to take a 'driving test' before you're allowed to push a pushchair in public. Some of these people are complete idiots!!

Today Trixie has been acting out of character as she disappeared at 3 p.m. and has only just returned, soaking wet. No explanation and my fruitless question 'Where have you been?' will remain a mystery. In such weather as this and even on nice days, she would usually spend many of those hours curled up asleep. I had been out looking and calling, and even, in the lamplight, half-expecting/fearing a huddled shape at the roadside, though she is very road-aware.

She has sometimes disappeared for more hours than that and just sauntered in again. But in the rain like today? Daft animal. I started to think what a horrible Christmas if something has really happened to her.........you hear of cat thieves.

Now all is well till next time!

Lucy does this occasionally, too and sometimes in foul weather like today. I stopped worrying quite so much when OH said that, if she left home between showers or in only fine drizzle but got caught out by the next heavy cloudburst, then it would be sensible of her to wait undercover, perhaps under a shed or in a garage or porch if such a spot is nearby and then come home when the rain eases off. I do still fret until she's home but it's a reasonable hypothesis.

Morning Dit and all, Nice and sunny at the moment. What a worry these animals are, still wish I had a houseful. Off to the Conservative club today for the Xmas lunch. Not actually keen but already booked for me. Hope doggie enjoys her walkies today, should be fine with lots of hugs to help along. Also, hope all hubbies are still on the up. Do hope pussies are warm and curled up today. It is a worry when they go off but that;s pussies for you. We have two visit us each day, they sit on the shed roof and sunbathe. We know one of them lives quite some way away but they all seem to have an area which they patrol. The second one belongs to the squires house which is behind me. I did start putting food out but have stopped that because I don't want them upsetting my birds. Three squirrels playing at the moment. Do hope all are o.k. sorry I seem to be rambling on this morning. Take care and have a lovely day. cheers Penny

Goodmorning Penny and all. Your garden sounds lovely, We have a little aviary and I have just come in from chasing off another cat (not you L Katt) off the roof, 23yrs ago we had a couple of cockatiels in a cage in the house, we decided to give them somewhere where they could fly around and bought a little aviary, blow me if they didn't breed and then we had 6 of them. A couple of years later the lady nextdoor asked if we would take her two, which we did giving us a family of 8. We have now only 3 left but they are now very old one over 23yrs old, there is at least 9 cats living within spitting distance of our house and a couple of them are right little killers and they would dearly love to make a meal out of our birds, and are continually climbing up the wire or coming on the roof, as soon as I say cat the dog goes wild barking, this usually gets rid of them. Anyway thats my ramble done. Beautiful sunny day and doggie has had a good walk, she is happy to send you loads of hugs Penny, keep your chin up :) enjoy your lunch and take care, also anyone popping in.

Morning Dita and all, Lovely and sunny when I got up now - dreadful morning cold and dark. Worse to come it seems. Hope all are well, better take doggie for early walkies today Dita, lots of hugs to help along. Lots of kisses for pussies, I expect they are all keeping warm and curled up nicely. Looks like we have some much worse weather to come later this week. Think I will hibernate. Take care all. cheers Penny

Hi, everybody - intermittently sunny here but the wind is increasing, making it quite cold outside so probably a day for brisk dog walking rather than a stroll! Lucy K's been Out to try it but decided that In is altogether preferable.

Compliments of the season to you, too, Dita - lovely kitties; made me go Aaaaaaaah! Not much happening here at present; I went to the last writing group meeting of the year last night - doesn't that sound terrible? The end of another year only 2 weeks away.

OH is off to a Transport for All meeting this afternoon. Ever since he retired, he's been getting involved in pressure groups and local activist organisations of one sort and another and tries to interest me. I s'pose it's a good thing somebody can be bothered but all my enthusiasms for things like that fizzled out somewhere about the time I was juggling childcare, working hours and housework and discovered I no longer had time for CND protests and so on.

The sun's gone in now and it looks horrible outside. Maybe I'll hibernate, too but not in my new brushed-cotton PJs: I wore them last night and also had a brushed cotton bottom sheet on the bed and it was like being Velcro-ed!! Every time I moved, my PJ's stuck to the sheet

Hi Penny, Andere and all. We are having a horrible day here too, Doggie has missed her walk Penny and so very pleased with those hugs today, it is not often this happens but sometimes no option. On Sunday I started with a waterwork prob, think it is the after effects of that bug I had and never really got rid of, going to the loo is painful and often. Just hope it goes before Xmas, dont want to be bothering the doc, drinking loads of water. Think it very funny Andere about your P Js sticking to the sheet, hee hee. Purrs to L Katt. Penny keep smiling :) and take it easy. Also keep warm, Andere and all.

Dita, how odd, I had the same problem. If you have a chemist near, ask for a packet of 6 sachets of powder for cystitis. Very good. Hope you feel better soon, wretched thing this water business. Take care. cheers Penny
