Morning Penny and all. Hope hubby revived after his heavy meal yesterday, I'm not eating much today, too many dumplings eaten. I get online Mail on kindle and pick up the gossip, like you I am not very technical and cause all sorts of problems if I'm not careful. Wish we had Cosco round here also. Wind getting up but it nice and sunny earlier, doggie enjoyed her walk but eager to get back and send big hugs to you Penny. Done a clean up and some washing, think thats it for today, am either lazy or lethargic. Wonder if those pussy's still napping? Keep smiling Penny :) and take care, also anyone popping in.

Hi Dita and all, popped in earlier but got called away, you know who. Expecting our window man today, he sent an Email yesterday. Weather iffy so don't know whether he will make it. Keep getting sunny patches, then a little rain. Still very windy and cold. Pleased doggie got her walkies, I expect she found all the hugs waiting on her return. Pussies will be hibernating again today, not the sort of weather for pussies to be out. Kisses sent to keep warm. Done some washing this morning but feel like you, lethargic. Must be the weather. Hope all have a good day, take care and keep warm. cheers Penny

Hi, everyone. Wouldn't you know it? After it rained pretty much all night, it turned into a lovely morning, sunny and quite warm so we thought we'd make the most of it and go for a walk after my grocery delivery came and OH got back from his appointment with the GP Practice nurse. Unfortunately, the nurse was running very late and, by the time he got back home and we'd eaten a sandwich, the sun had gone, the wind had increased and it didn't feel like a good idea at all. Probably just as well because he's now completely exhausted; it's probably just a hangover from the bliddy cold virus but he was wiped out most of yesterday, dozing in a chair, and said he had to stop for a breather twice in about 400m on the way to the surgery this morning. I shall keep an eye on him although he says he feels OK apart from the exhaustion. All in all, maybe it's as well we cancelled our weekend away. But at least this morning's sunshine allowed me to open some windows for a while and get some fresh air into the house for the first time since I-can't-remember-when and let out some of the lingering cooking smells.

Oh, and yes thanks, Penny - the liver was great. I did it Berlin-style with the liver just cooked and sliced onion and apple slices sautéed and served on top of it. Your version with sugar sounds lovely but OH is diabetic and absolutely sworn off added sugar with anything so I'd be on my own with that one! Very occasionally, I do honey-roast carrots and parsnips but only on high days and holidays :)

Lucy's now home and curled up. She did enjoy the sunshine this morning and patrolled Out for a while to make sure it was still there. Glad doggie got a sunny walk today. Purrs to her and to everyone else.

Morning Dita and all, lovely and sunny at the moment after a very wet start. Hope doggie manages a walkies with warm hugs before weather turns again. We waited all day yesterday for our window chap and he came about 4.30 to say he would come Tuesday morning. Just been. Poor chap what a job cleaning windows this weather. Woke very early today hearing what sounded like a huge lorry dragging another up our lane. Turned out it was torrential rain for less than 3 mins. lots of places flooded, we fortunately are higher up. Dita, son came at 6pm yesterday and was here until after eight trying to get me to understand this wretched thing. Talk about thick. He fortunately is a lot like me and has lots of patience. Will pluck up courage and try again later on today.
Hope hubbies are feeling better today, not a good time to be off colour. Hope pussies are o.k. They can venture out for a time today but won't stay out long, too cold. So, take care all and do keep warm. cheers Penny :please:

Hi Penny and all, pleased you were not flooded by that outburst of rain that you had earlier Penny. I have only just managed to get here today, what started as a very calm quiet day turned into one of those days when everything happens, weather wise it has been quite nice and doggie enjoyed a bit longer out and about because the mud is slowly soaking away, she was happier still with your hugs as she toddled along today. The lady nextdoor arrived just for a couple of minutes then an hour later we were still chatting, my mobile rang and it was my friend asking if I was still on for today, I had forgotten that we had arranged to meet. Not wishing to let her down I hurried and met her at 12.30 as pre-arranged, she only recently lost her husband and was still feeling very lonely and I had promised to go to the cinema with her, we saw Philomena a sad film with Judy Dench, have you heard about it Penny? Arrived back home at 4.30 and then had to prepare our tea which made it around 5.30 before I logged on here, was in the middle of a message about my day when my mobile rang and it was my Grandson wanting a chat, of course on returning to this post found out I had been logged off and so lost the lot. So here I am at 6.45pm writing away like wild fire. Keep smiling Penny :) and take care Pussies and all. :grouphug:

Morning all.
Can't sleep. Probably because I have to fast for 12.00hours for a blood test this morning. Not use to not having something to eat in the mornings. I usually have tea and toast at around 6.00am but not able to have that now.
Hope all are well and anyone who is poorly I hope they soon get better.

The CT scan not only went well, it was too short! I could easily have fallen asleep, such was the comfort. This was enhanced by the effect of the injection which (in the words of the radiologist) 'gives a sensation like a hot flush all over'.

Great news vannin, when do you get results?. Now relax and enjoy thisnice weathr ???? so far. Hope all goes well today Mo, let us know the results.. Off to Cosco today for a change, just to get out. How goes it Dita, did doggie get her walkies today, I sent along lots of hugs to keep her warm. Just given hubby a hair cut (with what he has left)like me, going thin now. Do hope everyone is well and got this sunshine. A nice change. I expect pussies will venture out for a quickie today, big kisses to help along. Moaning about our weather, did anyone see the dreadful time they are having in parts of America. One lady told me last night that where her son lives they had up to three feet of snow. Can you imagine. Do take care all and keep warm. cheers Penny

G'morning, everyone! A lovely sunny day today. OH now feeling brighter than when I last posted here and suggesting we go out for a while and enjoy the weather later. Mind, Lucy K's not too impressed; she's only been out for about 10 mins, preferring to doze in a sunny window inside. Good dog-walking weather, anyway. That polar vortex (I think that's what they're calling it) in the States sounds pretty horrendous. I know that, in many of the more northerly states, they're well used to loads of snow but it's hard to imagine being able to survive in the minus-30s and it must be pretty strange for the people in more southerly places, like Florida etc. where it doesn't generally get cold at all. I don't suppose any of them have any real cold-weather clothing or equipment either. Horrible!
Viv, it's great that everything went so smoothly yesterday - fingers crossed for a happy result; also for Mo's blood test.

Hello Penny and all. Starting to cloud over after a nice sunny morning, enjoyable doggie walk, happily sending you many hugs today Penny. Been to Tesco for a bit of a shop, always spend more £'s than intended, how is that? :) Pleased all went well Viv, good luck for your test Mo, Andere your hubby much better too. Loving purrs for all pussies reclining in the warmth as usual. Hubby fancied bangers & mash so spent an hour choosing some sausages which were to his liking very little spiced, hopefully they will be enjoyed tomorrow but not my favourite, we used to have our own pig when I was young, Mum made real sausage. Keep your chin up Penny :) take care all xx

Results are due 'in a week' which makes it Tuesday - but you know how these timings fluctuate!

Trixie is seeming frustrated by all this rain. I feel sorry for them having to bolt for it when desperate to answer the call of nature, although I have known Trixie to 'hold it' for 24 hours. I helpfully put out a litter tray in the covered way outside the cat-flapped back door. But she won't consider it!! Only once when there was severe snow and the space I cleared for her at the back kept getting filled-in.

So she decides to turn hunter in the times between the heavy showers and I know she has been mousing but doesn't actually enjoy eating them, so leaves me the results.

Yesterday morning (as if I hadn't enough going on) I came down to find a dead but beautiful blue tit and heaps of feathers on the floor. A little burial was performed before I went out and I spoke to her in a very scolding voice - but she knew it was wrong.

I know it is the 'law of nature' but still surprising how our beautiful bundle of cuddles is still a creature with killer instinct.

Hi Penny and all, enjoy the shop and lunch with your son. After a night of rain mid morning the sun popped out, sadly down the lane more mud around for doggie walk, result was after doing the usual she came back like a bat out of hell, really happy for those hugs today Penny, it is now very dark and rain now threatens again. Bet pussies are cuddled up somewhere warm. Pleased you are away from the floods Penny, hope all popping in haven't got problems either. Keep smiling Penny :) and all. :grouphug:
