Hi everyone - very grey and gusty winds today with some spatterings of rain. Such a shame as it was very bright and sunny around 8am; dunno what happened to that! The builder has arrived to remedy our damp patch. Apparently, there was a hole in the roofing felt just above one of the windows so he's busy replacing it as far back as the 2nd batten. That's a relief, knowing the cause and that it can be fixed reasonably simply and without getting a mortgage!

Oh gets newsletters from Lidl about their special offers so I'd seen pics of all the cat-stuff. Trouble is, if I get any more stuff for Lucy, we'll have to dump some of the things she's already got to make space. That cat has more toys than the average day nursery and she rarely goes ner any of them. As you see, she's been having such a hard life recently that she needs to rest and recuperate ....

She was there for seven straight hours yesterday!

Good morning Penny, Andere and all. It just starting to rain, been very dull all morning so its no surprise really -not snowing yet. Love the pic of L Katt snug as imagine she would be. Pleased your roof getting sorted Andere. Managed to get doggie out for walkies earlier Penny, she was shivering a bit on return so very grateful from those hugs from you and happy to return them to keep you warm. Not much news from this end either, keeping low profile today from a grumpy old man. Keep smiling Penny :) Andere and all.

Hi Penny and all, only just managed to get on today, it just one of those days when things pop up. :) Anyway, it was blue sky plenty sunshine for walkies this morning, your hugs were welcome though because there was quite a chill in the air. What a change now, it is blustery, cloudy, just the opposite. Did not know about the booklet in the mail, because we do not have papers delivered in the village, it is only online I get to read it, unless we go to town and I can pick one up there. There is lots of activity in the village, scaffolding going up all over the place, they will be starting to cover ours, and other houses with the exterior cladding which has been promised by the Wind farm and Council, it will be supplied free with money donated to the village. Thinking about tea now, what to have must be decided. Keep smiling Penny :) take care all, not forgetting pussy cats.

Takes some time. Do hope your outside work doesn't cause too much bother Dita, will it change the look of the property? Doggie should be o.k. for nice walkies today if you have time, big hugs to help keep warm. Kisses for pussies too, should be able to have a little sniff around today. Hi Penny and all, its a beautiful day here for doggie walks too, makes all the difference to how we feel when the sun shines, sure Dolly had an extra bounce in her steps and your hugs sure helped her on the way. We nipped to Sainsburys, bought one of the Steak pies you talked about, will cut it in half like you did and see how it goes. The house will look much different the covering they put on is a creamy colour, consisting of large 2inch thick polystyrene sheets, when all on they cover with a self cleaning paint. At the moment they are working on the row of 6 houses opposite, when done they will all look the same. I am not sure if I like the idea of that as it means they lose that individual look, however ours will still be individual because in our row we are the only house with a bay window because we had ours made that way, also we have a fairly large porch and at the end of the terrace, hopefully we should find it warmer inside despite everything and will fetch our energy bills down. It has cost us nothing either, and that is saying something, we do not have to be on any benefits to get this done and we are not. It is purely money given by the wind turbine farm which we are having to put up with. Enough of me rabbiting on, keep your chin up Penny :) and take care all, Purrs to pussycats.

Hi everyone - what a lovely day it's been. Bright and sunny and wonderful if you can just stay out of the wind ... OH and I felt we just had to go out and enjoy it so we went to Maldon for a walk along the quay and the promenade. The sun had brought everyone out, the place was really busy, all the cafés and pubs doing a roaring trade; the proprietors must have been so grateful for a sunny day and some custom after so many wet weekends.
Spring is definitely on the way: the little ornamental cherry trees in our avenue are starting to blossom and poor OH nearly crashed the car this afternoon when I started bouncing around all excited and shouting, 'oooooh! wow! Catkins!!' Well, they looked so lovely, all yellow and fresh in the hedgerow :)
Lucy K is not so sure. She definitely prefers to be inside a sunny window than outside on the sill, these days. Gotta stop - dinner time. Sausages and jacket potatoes tonight :please:

Morning Dita and all. So pleased you didn't crash, be careful where you get excited in future, in bed is o.k. ha ha. Weather not too bad but still cold, doggie may get walkies today but wrap up and take loads of hugs to keep warm. Dita, the supplement in the D,Mail today is super, only a little bit but explains how to take pictures in a jiffy. OH called me to have a look and believe me, so simple I can do it. OH has a very expensive camera and equipment and he now says, it won't be needed any more. Can't believe that of course as he belongs to postal camera clubs. Hope all are well and keeping warm, kisses for pussies, can't see them going far today. Hope your work goes o.k. Dita, without any fuss and mess. Would imagine the cladding will also help to keep the heat in. Good thing. Take care all and have a good day. cheers Penny

Morning Penny and all. :) crashing in bed is ok :) Penny, whatever do you mean-hee. Cold and blustery today, thanks for the hugs Penny, warmed her up on return from walkies which put a wag in her tail. One thing I have found out about this cladding thing which is good, it seems not all the houses in our row are going to done, so ours at the end should still be individual looking. You got me thinking about the supplement in the Mail, I only have Kindle Fire which was one of the first of the model out, now they have come far although I could do much more than I do on it. My hubby has plenty of expensive camera equipment too, in the old days we used to develope our own pics, despite new cameras through the years he never takes any pics, I do with my much cheaper model??? Keep smiling Penny :) and all. Shh! pussy asleep.

Gosh! However did you guess?? She went for a stroll after breakfast then returned and curled up on a chair. Every now and then, she turns through 90o; if she didn't keep doing that, we'd probably think she was dead.
Hope the cladding work goes OK, Dita. If you don't like having a cream-coloured house when it's done, can you paint it some other colour or would paint damage it? Talking of work - our bedroom damp patch is beginning to dry out already. It'll take a while to go completely and need months of sunshine to dry the outside but we're lucky that the wall faces south so it does get warm in summer.

The only excitement I get these days is when OH turns over and pulls the bed clothes off me. Your lucky Dita, don't even get a tickle these days, come to think of it, can't ever remember getting one at all.   cheers Penny

Morning Penny and all. Your bedtime frolicks are on par with mine then thankgoodness, mind you a cuddle sometimes would be nice, but there is always mi doggie, and she's sending you hugs today Penny, just been for walkies in the sunshine Yippee!. I suppose the cladding could be painted, may have to use special paint though, I have never seen so much scaffolding, when they start over here it is going to give the dog a sore throat cos she will be forever barking at them. Maybe L Katt will be having a wonder today. Keep smiling Penny :) and all.

Morning Dita and all, delighted doggy has got a nice lot of sunshine today, big hugs on the way. I expect pussies will be having a look around too, kisses to help. Thinking about photography Dita, would your OH like to join the Postal Photographic club. I doesn't any involve any costs or meetings. OH has a packet about every four or five weeks, with about 8 - 10 pictures in. All he has to do is mark them in perfection order and then add one of his own. Worth asking. Should he be interested let me know and I will send the name and address of the chappie who runs it. Take care all and keep warm. Although bright it is still very cold. cheers Penny :grouphug:
